They do not accept American Express, so because it was just one sub my wife ordered and two bags of chips, she just told the lady what she wanted on it, so she could go across the street to an ATM so we could pay for the food. They asked if she wanted her sub toasted, she said no because it was a cold cut sub, the lady said ok, I'll get this ready for you, my wife said, sounds good. She came back from the ATM, paid for our food, left and came home. When we got home, not only was the sub the grossest looking sub I've ever seen, but it was toasted. My wife doesn't like toasted subs, but aside from that, it literally looked as if they had just thrown everything on her sub. When we left to go to the ATM, we were their only customers, and when we came back, again we were still their only customers. When I called they said they would replace it and that we could come back and get it, but we live in East Dubuque, and didn't feel like going back out, so when I called today and spoke to the manager, she acted as if it was our fault because we didn't notice that the bag was warm when they handed us the food. Given, they had it prepared before we got back from the ATM, so it had been sitting there, and we didn't think about checking it because it was such a simple sub. It was only supposed to have the meat, cheese, lettuce, and mayo on it. The manager literally put me through a 20 minute phone conversation just to get my wife's sub replaced and acted like I was being petty about it. I am sorry, but we work hard for our money, and whether or not its $5 or $500, I do not like to throw money away. They didn't prepare the sub rhe way it was ordered, therefor it should have been replaced without a hassle. We will not be going back to this location, and neither will any of our family. Word of mouth is everything and so is how you treat your customers. The subway on JFK is...
Read moreWe waited 3-5 minutes for someone to come out the back. When they did hat was turned sideways and hair in face. The plastic covers where the sandwich go were gone just the metal showing with food and crumbs all over it. She then preceded to take her time and then asked about what sandwiches we wanted. I went first. She put down a sandwich wrap and made my sandwich on that. Underneath the wrap was all the crumbs and leftover food. My fiancee was up next. He ordered and she asked if he wanted it toasted or heated. He explained heated. She started the same way with mine never once looking at us. She started to put cheese on his sandwich and he explained he did not want cheese melted onto the sandwich. She took off the cheese and put it on the METAL DIRTY Surface where all the leftover crumbs and food are. Before she started the veggies and dressings she went to the back to visit with her coworker!!! She came back and to our surprise none of the veggies had covers on them. The lettuce mixed with tomatoes, black olives mixed with peppers. Health code violation maybe? I grabbed my sandwich when she was done and left my fiancee there to get his vegetables on. I went to get a cherry coke and it was mostly water. Just another thing that wasn't maintained. Finally went to sit down at a table waiting for my fiancee and every table in that restaurant was dirty. EVERY TABLE! Cleaned one off myself and sat down. When my fiancee sat down and took a bite out of his bread it was not FRESH! All in all this was the worst Subway experience I have ever had. Please take this into consideration and evaluate your staff. All together to get two sandwiches it took us 20 min. For a store that markets on being FRESH and FIT you would think cleanliness and organization would also be...
Read moreSince they moved into the new building, the new employees have been terrible. Complaining about the amount of orders coming in, complaining about why so many customers are walking through the door LOUD ENOUGH FOR THE CUSTOMERS TO HEAR. I just left and they were out of Mayo, ham, sweet Asian zing, ranch, the Parmesan shaker took well over 5 minutes for them to go refill, and they had to microwave my meatballs for my sub. We were in line for close to an hour (keep in mind we were the FOURTH people in line) and nobody except what I assume was a manager showed any sort of sympathy or rush to get us our food and put the door. This was just the latest time I had been on there, with many other horror stories from this place, at many different times throughout the day, because the employees show no sign of interest in doing a good job. I will never return to this subway and I will be sure to let everyone I know to just go to the subway over on JFK or even...
