Zoro's Gyros — Restaurant in Dubuque

The gyros is the best dish for the money. Huge amount of meat! I would prefer more tomato and onion. The sauce wasn't as good as I would have liked, it was o.k., but coming from Chicago, the Greeks there have it perfected! I asked for additional, because it was a small portion. The also charge for add'l sauce but they have never charged me. I've tried some of their other"Chicago style" foods, like the hot dog. Clearly nothing like a Chicago dog. It's an oversized hot dog (1/4 lb I think). and not garnished like a Chicago dog! While I always go there for the Gyros platter, ( their fries are great!!) It's a great value, I just stay with that! The owners are very friendly, and the service, I've found to be above average! Recently remodeled, and is really nice! Don't really know of a better place in Dubuque for gyros. I'm just a "little critical" on food and service, but try it for yourself! I ask for my gyros "well done" it's really good that way! You won't be hungry...

If you want to get treated like you are an inconvenience, if you want an older Greek woman shouting at you, if you want someone to treat you like you are 4 years old, then this is the place for you! Rudest owner I've met in decades. Got a burger and fries to go, didn't want soda that comes with it and asked for water, she gave me city water, I left it behind. She took offense and said bottled water doesn't come with it. I said, fine, I don't want your drink. She also snapped at my husband because he was not prompt and decisive, but asked questions about a few items on the menu. She snapped, which is it then!? We brought our order back to our hotel. No napkins. No utensils, No ketchup or mustard for my burger or fries. No salt on the fries... burger and fries are cold....what is this? Paid $24 and this was soooo unacceptable. If this is how you do business, I suspect you won't be here next time I come...

The cashier is very rude she threatened to punch me in the face and told my children not knowing who they were just remembering we were all together this threat stemming from a prejudice visit to the establishment and I was talking my grandbaby that she shouldn’t b paying 8 dollars for a grilled cheese and that this was the last time I was buying it so today the threat was made so I went and confronted her at first she tried to convince me I was in the wrong restaurant because she had customers so she was playing dumb I told her off then she came from behind the counter and called me all kinds of names me poor I laughed because she’s over charging and ripping people 8 dollars for a grilled cheese is outrageous but she’s very rude and the food is not all that good she’s prejudice and I called it out ...
