The staff was friendly, the pizza was awful. I will readily admit I don’t care for thin crust pizza, therefore it would have been nice for the menu to note that all pizzas are indeed thin crust. The pizza lost its heat by the time we got it home because, well, thin crust. Also if I’m paying 1.50 for a topping it would be nice to ensure that it reaches every slice on the pie. They forgot one topping completely, but things like that happen on occasion. My overall problem with this pizzeria is lack of value. We spent almost 70 dollars on two pizzas and an order of wings, the toppings were scant, and it struggled to properly feed a family of 5. EDIT- Hey there owner of duck pizza! Yes, we left a pathetic review for a pathetic pizza. Indeed your website states your crust is thin, but your menu doesn’t. Sorry I didn’t go check your water bottles before I ordered. I said I don’t care for thin crust, and clearly that’s the only thing that stuck with. You neglected to mention the fact you left your off an entire topping, and the rest were lacking ( that’s what scant means) as in, not even on every slice. The biggest complaint as mentioned previously was lack of value. I’ve stayed in Duck many times, and fully understand the average cost in the area. The difference between you, and other restaurants is they follow through with a quality product that is made properly. Although I appreciate your prompt response, I think it shows a lot about your character that you choose to insult my intelligence, and ability to read, instead of addressing any of the issues I...
Read moreSuper disappointing! Ordered 4 pizzas and loaded fries at 5:46pm for expected delivery at 7:01pm, which was reasonable. At 7:40pm I called the shop to check on the status of our order and was told it was out for delivery and should arrive soon and to call back in 15 mins if it hasn’t arrived. At 8pm I called the shop back and the girl who answered said she was going to call the delivery person, after a few mins she said the delivery person was pulled over by the police and I was her next stop. I asked if my pizza was even going to be hot, since it was out for delivery prior to my initial 7:40 call. The delivery person finally arrived at 8:15pm and acted like nothing was wrong, no apologies for being so late. My worst fears were realized when we opened the pizza boxes. All 4 pizzas were ice cold and soggy. The loaded cheese fries were also cold and soggy. I called the shop back and was told they would issue me a 30% discount off my next order and they would remake my order. I told them that was unacceptable and I wanted a full refund. The manager on duty said he wasn’t able to do that until the end of the night when he closes out the register with the owner and I should see my refund in 2 days. As of today, it has been 2 days and I will be going to the shop in person to get my full refund, since I threw the pizzas away (pic from our trash can). I understand things happen, but the most disappointing thing about this pizza shop was their total lack of empathy and poor customer service skills to take charge of...
Read moreExcellent pizza, extremely fresh salad, exceptional customer service, and the quality of the food justifies the price you pay for it! This place is a gem among a slew of overprice mediocre restaurants in the Outer Banks! The pizza was fantastic, and it's clear they use fresh ingredients and know how to prepare a pizza. The Greek salad had perfectly fresh lettuce, a generous amount of toppings, and the dressing was delicious! This was the first place we've tried on our vacation (and we've unsuccessfully tried to eat at a variety of restaurants) where we were actually able to eat the food! Case in point, we tried to eat at the Whalehead Brewery the night before, only to watch them swat flies with their kitchen prep towels right where they finish the food before it's served to the customer. We actually told that story to the cashiers at this place and the look on their face was appalling. Shows they'd never consider such a stupid move at Duck Pizza, and God Bless them for it! To top off our experience, as we went to leave our car wouldn't start, so as we waited for AAA we went back up and asked if we could have plates and utensils so we could eat our take-out pizza there. They were more than accommodating, and again, you could see they actually cared about their customers and their experience! This place does it all right! Save yourself the migraine you'll get from trying to find a good place to eat in the area and give these guys a try. They truly care, and it shows in...
