An awesome place to experience nature..The shops we may be able to see another time..but our trip in March to the boardwalk did not disappoint. If you have health issues be sure to find places to use the restroom before you go. As not many businesses allow the public to use the restroom. While on our walk we did the Duck Donuts verses Donuts on a Stick comparison. My son preferred Duck Donuts while my husband prefers Donuts on s stick. If yall love sweets, why not try both. We were able to see cool scenes and awesome birds. If you are a nature lover, I encourage you to protect yourself from the sun and experience this trek.    Read moreA beautiful place to walk along the coast, but hidden by all those shops and marketing places which has destroyed the beauty of this place, just like any other beaches in the OBX.There is good parking towards the end of the trail,but its again hidden by all those shops, no sign boards about the board walk or about the parking.I haven't seen any public restrooms.    Read moreThis was a very beautiful, quaint, and smart boardwalk. It runs along the channel side of the OXB, plenty of opportunities to see fish, and other creatures. Providing a warmer side of the island, which is great for cooler days. The boardwalk runs along your typical touristy shops and smaller eateries. Clothing going from the range of $ to $$$$. I believe I found 2 shops along the downtown strip of original pieces of art (paintings, jewelry, cute crafty items) handmade.
