We wanted to run into Duck for breakfast and this looked like it would have the best coffee. Parking was easy. The line to order was long and took about 15 minutes to get through. Then after that it was another 25 minutes to receive the order, which we were warned about. My wife enjoyed her coffee. Good, not great, way better than hotel/resort coffee. She got the crab cake sandwich with avocado and couldn't stop singing its praises. I got the sausage and gravy. They serve it on their peach biscuits, which is almost distracting at first, but after a few bites it melds very well with the slight kick in their sausage gravy, which seems to have maybe a little Sriracha in it? The side of bacon was huge, with crazy thick cut slices of smokey wonderful bacon. Definitely worth it if you can take the time. The shopping center around this place is awesome. Most of the stores don't open until 10:00 or 10:30 am and some aren't open on Sundays, but they have awesome tables and chairs everywhere and it's shady and magical, with a little stream running through.

My husband and I found this restaurant by checking local eateries. At first glance, this chic restaurant is lively and with the times. Upon checking out the food menu, the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit caught our attention along with the fried chicken biscuit. The food came out about 10 minutes after ordering. We arrived around 10:00 am and there was a small line, but it moved quickly. The bacon, egg and cheese came out on a massive biscuit which my husband ( a bread lover) loved. I thought the biscuit was too dense and not salty enough. The bacon was a bit too thick, reminding me of smoked pork vs breakfast bacon. The chicken biscuit was similar, a very large biscuit, but with a sizable piece of chicken. We both loved the chicken along with the hot honey drizzle. Overall, a live local singer was singing in the courtyard, creating a calming and nice environment. The food was unique, but I don’t see myself going back.

In years past, this was our favorite coffee shop in the OBX. We were very much looking forward to returning this year again. We arrived to find some changes - mainly in the form of an expansion from coffee shop to breakfast restaurant. Of course this made us apprehensive. Until I got reacquainted with my old friend "cold brew" and all was right with the world. Then I made a new friend. Its name is biscuit. I now have a fresh reason to look forward to my next visit. In southern terms - seriously y'all these biscuits are heaven, bless their hearts! Be aware, you will have to wait for the biscuits. They are freshly made and that takes time. But very much worth the wait (seriously considered tackling the young man carrying in a tray of freshly baked goodness - if you saw this you'd understand). So don't come on down with a northern, impatient mindset. Come here to sit, sip, chat and enjoy.

First of all my family ordered biscuits and gravy, a bacon egg and cheese biscuit, cup of coffee, chai tea latte, and an omelette. $10 for a biscuit, $14 for an omelet, $11 for gravy and biscuits, and $8 for drinks. All of which I've been to sheets, Wawa, McDonald's, and had better food and drinks. That's not the end of it however. We go there and the woman's serving us is wearing a shirt that says because science and it has a face mask on it. Let me reiterate for a second overpriced food that was marginally on the same level as McDonald's. Then we are outside to order of which we have face masks on even though we're outside which let's think about that for a second is kind of a bit asinine especially in 90° weather, but one of us had a face mask on of which is a 8-month pregnant woman and the face mask wasn't totally covering her nostrils on her nose and we were told that we would not be serviced unless she pulled her mask up further. I'm telling you the restraint that it took me to not reach across the counter and pull this woman out of her freaking little bubble was astronomically high for me. The audacity that some ignorant liberal woman tells my 8-month pregnant friend that her mask isn't being worn high enough and we can't be served is completely asinine. If I own that business this woman would have been fired on the spot. Clearly she doesn't understand that masks inhibit oxygen levels specifically in higher humidity climates. On top of that however the rudeness was absolutely unnecessary. I would never recommend this place to anyone not just for the poor customer service and the hypocrisy of how they serve people but just for the food itself of which was not exceptional by any means. If I could get this place a negative...

My sister-in-law and I were looking for a place with nice ambience to sip coffee and share some quality time (i.e. literally, one-day-per-year time). We arrived at the coffee shop around 3:15 in the afternoon. This place had a nice feel until the music turned from a soft, conversation-friendly style to an 'inhospitably' loud and hard style. When my sister-in-law asked if they might adjust the volume, the young girl (high-school to early college-aged girl with a long pony tail - who had also helped us with our order), turned on her heels without a word and with apparent agitation, we watched her snap off the music. We felt very uncomfortable in that moment. We quickly looked at the time and left immediately. We realized only afterwards (after looking online to see what their hours were) that we had over-stayed by 15 minutes. We would have gladly accepted any attempt by the staff at communicating they would be 'closing up shop' in ten or 15 minutes... or, even, that their doors were now already closed. Rather, we received only passive-aggression AFTER the fact. The staff (or, at the very least, this one employee) could truly benefit from additional training on how to appropriately handle customers who may have lingered beyond their business hours. We sincerely didn't come with the intention of creating any hardship for anyone. When I saw the breakfast menu posted outside, (before we first went in) I thought about treating my husband to breakfast the next morning, but after the treatment we received decided I would find another...

The reason I'm giving two stars is for the food- it was pretty good. The other missing stars are due to how disrespectful and lousy the service was. The manager, servers, everyone was so rude and unhelpful. Drinks were put out with a confused line of customers trying to figure out whose drinks they were. When we asked for milk, they took the gallon of milk out of the fridge and slid it over to us to pour. Only brought half our breakfast. Manager was obviously having a bad day and was making other customers uncomfortable as well with eye rolls, rushing them, etc. Asked for butter/jam and server walked away, saying over her shoulder "it's inside". No butter- waited and she slid a couple of frozen butter ramicans across the bar to me. Cool looking place with decent food. All staff is disorganized and horrible though. Would never eat here again. Needed a straw for my coffee and didn't even want to go back in to get it when I left because I didn't even want to look at the staff again. To the staffs credit, there was a young gentleman that was seemingly nice to other customers. Wish we had him. Don't pretip like we did when you order here, if you would...
