Stir Fry Express — Restaurant in Duluth

Edited to add: Due to the bone shard found in my food injuring me, I'll now be losing 2 teeth because of this. Don't eat here if you want to keep your teeth 🤷🏻‍♂️🙅🏻‍♂️

TLDR: Food I give 3 stars, but for overall rating I give 1 star due to sustaining an injury from my meal.

Last night my fiancée and I ordered from here off of Door Dash. We've ordered from here a couple times before with no issues (with the exception of their noodles were way too salty so we switched to getting the rice). She gets the 2 item combo and I get the 3 item combo.

One thing I always get in mine is grilled teriyaki chicken. Between Stir Fry Express and other Chinese restaurants, I've had grilled teriyaki chicken many many times and not once have I EVER felt bone in the chicken from anywhere. Last night I go to take a bite, there was a shard of bone in the piece that I didn't catch at first and I bit down with full strength which caused one of my molars to break/crack.

My tooth has been in severe pain since last night and I'll most likely need an emergency dental visit to fix it. Not necessarily saying this is any single person's fault, but maybe SFE needs better quality control or monitoring of their ingredients. Probably won't be eating here again, or at least not their grilled teriyaki...

June 18th 2025 at approximately 630pm. Got a tray for my 2 year old so the takeout box was definitely not filled to the brim. When I got to the register, I set my take out box on the counter and waited for the employee to weigh it. There was 1 female worker that was filling other orders and 1 male worker (appears to me a manager) at the register doing paper work, not paying me much attention. It took him a moment but he then weighed my box. I was certain the scale was zeored out at -.24 to account for the box. He rang me up at $30 and took a brief look up at me, which i thought was odd. I took a moment to check with my wife and we agreed that it was way too expensive. I asked the male worker if this was correct and he nervously looked at his coworker and said something along the lines that maybe they didn't reset the scale from prior and adjusted the price to $15. I thought it was kind of sketchy, it seemed like he was trying to pull a fast one. How does one think that a not even filled box be over $30? Make sure you're paying the right amount for typical...

My 78 year old mother bought three meals and two drinks came to $35 she gave the guy a $100 he gave her nine dollars and no receipt. She didn't notice right away because we started eating. They said there was nothing they could do. Very bad business and obviously dishonest employees. The owner of course said till was not over. We will be posting on every social media site.
