Sadly, very "unimpressed" with this Culver's location. Actually, difficult to write this review, as I believe that the franchise owner is making a concerted effort to contribute to the community. It appears that there is a large percentage of the staff here that are/may be/seem to be "challenged" or"developmentally disabled" individuals. What a terrific idea, and kudos to the owner for this effort! That being said, however... On two separate visits last week I encountered difficulties. Both visits were made between 4PM and 8PM, when generally staffing would be appropriate to "dinner" hours. #1) Both food orders (fairly substantial, and "to-go") were incorrect (wrong items, missing items). This was the case even on the second visit, when I was aware of the need to "verify" the actual order at the time it was placed (ie: repeat & correct, if necessary with the staff ringing up). #2) Although it appeared that there was a large number (greater than 10) of staff working, there was a significant delay in receiving my order. This appeared to be a huge issue, particularly during the second visit, as I witnessed 3 customers approach the counter and "cancel" their orders, as they had been waiting "a really long" time. I also observed 2 "drive-thru" customers approach the counter and ask that their orders be replaced, as they did not receive what they wanted/originally ordered. Unfortunately, these folks encountered even more of a delay, as there seemed to be no "method to the madness" in "fixing" customer issues. As a "long time" customer of Culver's locations in Wisconsin, I was terribly disappointed in the experience here. I actually felt some odd sense of "embarrassment" as Culver's started in Wisconsin, and always promotes itself that way. Read moreDepressingly, like so many other fast food places, the quality of the local Culver's has collapsed over the past couple of years. My most recent visit to the Duluth location saw me purchase a single item (a Bacon Deluxe Triple sandwich), but while I'm sure I'm seen as a sub-optimal customer as of course restaurants are always bummed to lose out on lucrative soda sales, the thing still cost like $13, so I expected it to be of reasonable quality. I made the mistake of not checking it in the drive-through waiting area and instead drove home before opening it, at which point I learned it must've been made hours beforehand, at a minimum (the freshness was such that I really can't discount the possibility it was made the night before); the bun was rock-hard and completely stale, the patties were dry, the bacon and vegetables limp, the cheese congealed. A child could tell it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. After a couple of bites I resigned myself to a tuna sandwich and handed the BDT off to my dogs. It's a real shame, I LOVED this place for years; I've largely been off fast-food for a while now but the Duluth and Superior Culver's were the last ones I still went to for a splurge meal when I was short on time and running a large calorie deficit for the day, their burgers were always so good that it made the absurd wait times worth it. This one was so bad I'll literally never go back, $13 can buy me a very decent NY strip, no convenience is worth paying steak prices for literal leftovers because the restaurant manager wanted to get cute and try to avoid a little wastage at your expense.
