Xi'an Gourmet House — Restaurant in Duluth

Absolutely adored stopping by here after my grocery shop yesterday. The staff was very friendly and the food seemed fairly priced. I ordered the pork burger and fermented rice & egg congee which is just what I needed on a cold day like yesterday.

The woman working the front warned me that the flavor of the congee might not be appealing to everyone's taste but I thought it was really good. It's a loose congee with a mild but sweet fermented flavor to it. They added in a couple goji berries too which was really nice. When hot it's really good, but if you let it cool too much it can have a bit of a sour flavor to it. (I just reheated mine and it's still fantastic.)

Hoping to stop by here again and try more of the menu...

Technically this location is the first store and the one in midtown is secondary, and I guess the food here should be better than midtown store. But I was wrong.. The quality of the noodles in two stores are the same: hand-pulled, chewy, fresh and delicious, but the soup base here is not so good. Midtown store serve noodles in soy sauce soup, but this one has only light soup. Also the noodles here seem to come with less meat. Given that the price here is cheaper than midtown store, I would still recommend coming, but do not expect too much from the noodle soup. We absolutely loved the food. the braised pork brown sauce is amazing. The cold-skin noodles were spectacularly flavorful with cumin and chili's. the spicy lamb burger was amazing again spicy with cumin. The Xi'an style spicy chicken stir-fry was incredibly tasty and spicy. The shredded pork with pickled veg was also delightful. Everything was so good that we ordered two more lamb burger, two more braised pork and two more Xi'an spicy chicken stir-fry for next day school lunch for...
