I usually don't write reviews but this restaurant needs one! Only reason why I'm writing one is because of my waiter David. David is beyond amazing and definitely went above and beyond to make sure I had the best experience. From the moment I walked in he rushed up to me and greeted me warmly, as all the other associate's just looked up (some bartender lady on her phone- just looked up and sighed as if she didnt want to be there). He sat me down and brought me water instantly. He came back with a menu asking me if I wanted anything to drink- I just stuck with my water he provided for me :) He then came back shortly asking if I was ready to order. I had a few questions and he explained them perfectly leading me up to get the ceasar with chicken (great choice, highly recommend)! I asked if I could have the dressing on the side, and he made sure of it! My food came out quickly and he brought it over to me as soon as he heard the bell (he had other customers as well and was still very aware of his attention to everything and everyone). Ended up finishing up my platter (with his great customer service skills, checking up on me 3-4 times making sure my food was up to expectations/making sure I didn't need anything else). I was observing the place watching David run around, cleaning, serving customers, and providing an equal amount of attention to his guests. While everyone else was mostly on their phones or just walking around. It's sad to see who cares about the business and who doesn't. I ened up finishing up my salad and being very satisfied with my whole experience because of David. He really made me feel welcomed and at home while attending to my needs. I will definitely be returning because of him. The management needs to do better on the expectations of other employees. He was the perfect example of great customer service. Im only giving this place 5 stars because of him! This is what I call great customer service!! He needs a raise for sure, as to everyone else needs to stop sleeping on the job. Thank you for the great...
Read moreNever again. Today marked the 4th time I ordered from Artisana. Each time the food was extremely late. Today, 37 minutes after the pick-up time (I ordered online over an hour ahead of when I hoped to pickup). I even arrived 10 minutes late, based upon past practice. Public math, I ultimately still had to wait 15+ minutes for my food. That being said, I was always willing to wait, because their pizza was so good. Not so much today (see picture of burned pizza....I'm sorry, but if I pulled that pizza out of the oven, I would have started over, and apologized for the delay; just another indication how these people simply don't care about pizza or their customers). Additionally, the staff there are regularly unwelcoming. Never once since I've ordered from them has anyone ever greeted me upon entering. Objectively, while standing there, 4 other people came in to pick up take away orders and three groups came to get seated. None of them were greeted and only one person smiled, but irregularly. Bottom line, this restaurant is about the saddest feeling place I've been; no life, no atmosphere, no love. All four people who were there for pickup orders were waiting. One was a food delivery person who likely lost a tip due to Artisana's delay. Frankly, this place and its management should be ashamed. They take no pride in their work and clearly have no desire to be there. I do not recommend anyone to go there. If you want a good meal in a great atmosphere, El Paso is far superior. Where can you get good pizza in the area....well that's a-whole-nother story. Sadly, not many options as far as I've found in Dumfries. Nevertheless, I'll keep looking, but Artisana is one place I will never...
Read moreSomeone recently commented on how clean the restaurant was. I found that laughable as I came in and found every empty table in need of being wiped down and cleaned up. Plenty of staff and some just hanging around.
One of the servers I assume pointed out a corner table for us to sit at as it was clean. Nope. Covered in crumbs and the seats were as well.
Another server saw us and brought us menus. When we asked for it to be wiped down, the server bent down to look at the table as if we were lying about the crumbs and crud that was hardened to the table. He thankfully cleaned it up and said he’d be right back.
For fifteen minutes we sat and waited, looking at the menus while the kitchen staff and serving staff was getting a crash course on how to give out orders. There was a lot of confusion going on about dishes and what tables were getting what. All pretty loudly.
Since our server went MIA without a drink order and no one seemed to care, we decided to leave and go down the street.
I’ll give it two stars for it being brand new and growing pains, and a nice interior, but definitely leaves a lot to be desired (like actually being served and...
