The food was superb. I mean everything. We tried a cross section of everything on the menu. Had a feeling (from reviews I had read and from where the head pizza chef was trained) that the pizza was going to be great. And it was just a delicious as expected. When we got there, I scanned the reviews again to see what entrees I should try. But I found no mention. Let me tell you, the chicken francese was awesome. The sauce was perfect. Loved the chicken. But just as awesome and even more memorable was the accompanied pasta. It was cooked perfectly al dente and the sauce stuck to it wonderfully. Honestly that pasta alone will bring me back there. My wife had the shrimp diavolo pasta, same outcome - cooked al dented, sauce and shrimp were perfection. Other dishes, rice ball app, meatball app, fried calamari were all delicious. House salad and Ceasar salad were great too. Wine cabernet was excellent. Desserts- save room!! We drove in from NYC to take my in laws who live in a neighboring town to dinner here and to celebrate my wife's birthday with them. Staff made us feel very welcome. Can't say enough great things about Da Mimmo. I always read reviews, but I hardly ever write reviews. I had to in this case. The place is great and it deserves everyone's patronage. You won't be disappointed. Can't wait...
Read moreI had the pleasure to eat here on Sunday, on my way home from visiting a friend in NYC. We had spent the day prior going on a "pizza tour" of the city (visited some iconic spots like Joe's, John's, Artichoke, and Paulie Gee's, etc). And while all the spots had some fantastic pizza, I dont think any of them can compare to the Diavola pizza at Da Mimmos. It was hands down one of the best pizzas I have ever had, perfect blend of flavors, expertly cooked, and absolutely delicious. I would go here instead of Paulie Gees 11 out of 10 times, no question. And not only was the food amazing all around (the calamari and cheesecake were top notch) so was the decor and service. It was a cozy little spot and the staff made sure that my girlfriend and I felt right at home. It was a pleasure chatting with them, and they helped us feel welcomed and like regulars. And to top it off, even Antonio made time to stop by and make sure we were having an amazing time! All of them were extremely professional and courteous!
I cannot recommend the food, and experience, enough. And I definitely plan on making the trip back from PA again as soon as I have time!
Thanks for being...
Read moreThe owner, host and waiter were so friendly and accommodating! We ordered a few appetizers. The Calamari fritti was tender and delicious, the Italian Charcuterie board with olives and fresh bread was tasty, but a suggestion may be to add a sharp cheese like an auricchio provolone and maybe a fig jam for the savory. The burrata app was creamy and delightful. My family enjoyed their specialty pizza, pepperoni, margherita and the eggplant (although we prefer no skin on the eggplant). The pizza was cooked well and flavorful. I ordered, but not on the menu, Calamari Fra diavolo. It was very flavorful and I really enjoyed it. The broccoli rabe with garlic and olive oil was tasty. I understand Gordon cut your menu down, but I think it would be beneficial for your business to eventually extend your menu and offer more apps & entrees such as white/red mussels, a veal chop dish, zuppa di pesce, and a risotto dish. We wish you the best of luck and we will be...
