Mexico mi amor has quickly become our new go to spot. I eat there at least once every week. As a mother to three young children, this is the only restaurant I truly enjoy going to now because it is SO kid friendly. The play area is essential and so helpful when the kids start getting restless. The food is insanely delicious! My favorite things to get are the birria tacos, quesabirria, and steak fajitas. A horchata espresso is a must when I go for breakfast or lunch! Tres leches is always heavenly. The restaurant is BYOB, if you bring wine or tequila you can have them make a pitcher of sangria or margaritas! We always leave full and happy. There are always fun events happening at Mexico Mi Amor. Follow them on Instagram or Facebook to keep up with what’s going on! I’ve been to their trivia, bingo, live music, book club, karaoke, and much much more!! We have never had a bad experience. The staff is superb, especially Hollie!
In response to a different review I read about “a drunk old man singing”. First of all, you went on karaoke night when anyone is allowed to sing. Second, he was most definitely obviously NOT drunk. I went on karaoke night with my family and he was up there singing. We all knew right away that there was something more going on with him and that’s no one’s place to judge him. The fact that he feels safe enough to sing his heart out is that much more of a reason to come and eat at Mexico Mi Amor. The staff is welcoming to EVERYONE.
Overall, I highly recommend Mexico Mi Amor! If you haven’t tried them yet, let this be your sign...
Read moreWe absolutely loved everything about this restaurant. It is so refreshing to have a local place with authentic Mexican food, and so awesome that it is owned by a local family! The place is huge, clean, colorful and beautiful! The art and pictures make it so cozy! The ambiance is great, and music was so good, my kids were literally dancing the whole time, but we could talk without having to raise our voices.
There is a play corner with a play kitchen, a table with colorring books and a couch, this alone makes it super family friendly, my toddler who does not usually like restaurants loved this place!
The waitress was so attentive, knowledgeable and just so nice!
The food was AMAZING! I am so picky when it comes to Mexican food, due to food sensitivities, and I absolutely loved everything I tried, you can tell they cook everything fresh and with quality ingredients. I see people complaining about the portion sizes but I personally found them to be generous.
I highly recommend eating here! I would give it 10 stars if I could, and I can't wait to be back, also looking forward to hosting events here in the future, such a great space for that!
Please do yourselves a favor and try their birria tacos and iced caramel latte,...
Read moreAfter visiting multiple times (and at varying times of the day), I can confidently say Mexico Mi Amor is now my go-to for authentic Mexican cuisine. Chef Juan and his wife, Marta, have created something special that goes beyond exceptional food.
Food & Value— Mexico Mi Amor consistently delivers on both authenticity and quality. The pricing reflects the quality—you're paying for fresh ingredients and genuine craftsmanship. The birria tacos alone are worth the visit.
Experience & Care— What sets Mexico Mi Amor apart for me though is how genuinely welcoming they are to families and the community. As a parent of a two-year-old, the dedicated kid’s play area is a game-changer—my little one can play while I actually enjoy my meal. They've also thoughtfully included changing tables, a detail that many restaurants overlook but parents desperately appreciate.
The team at Mexico Mi Amor is working hard to create something meaningful in Dumont, and it shows in every interaction, every dish, and every celebration. Whether you're looking for a family dinner, a community gathering spot, or simply the best birria tacos in the area, Mexico Mi...
