I've been bamboozled

I've been here twice. I'm local and would love to see them succeed, but want to provide an honest review.

Trying to keep things fair here, so here is my honest review after two visits: Once at dinner and once at breakfast.

Dinner visit:

We were one of two parties in the place on a weeknight prior to their actual opening. Somehow, even though we were some of the few patrons in there, it still took an inordinately long time to receive our order. Bothersome but okay...we attributed to newness and inexperience. Service was inconsistent and slow, but always friendly during the visit. Food was decent...I would say 7 out of ten (steak nachos), my companion (club sandwich) would have rated lower. Prices are very reasonable! Presentation was casual but nice (see pics).

Breakfast visit:

A fiasco and sooo disappointing. Again, we were one of two parties present. Neither my companion or I got what we ordered. Now neither of us is clairvoyant but as soon as we ordered and she walked away, we looked at each other and said at the same time: "what do you want to bet that we don't get what we ordered?" And we were right.

His order: omelette with cheese, bacon and jalapenos, side of sausage What he got: omelette with cheese and sausage, no jalapenos, side of bacon What I ordered: omelette with cheese and bacon, side of sausage What I got: runny (totally undercooked) omelette with cheese and sausage, side of bacon

Heres a tip: WRITE it down!!

Oh, and did I mention that it took nearly 25 minutes to get the food (with a total of four patrons in the place including us). Bacon and toast not even warm. Potatoes were hot and very good.

Manager came over and I said that the best rating I could give for that visit was: edible. I take that back, mine was not edible as it was not cooked properly.

To their credit, manager was sincerely apologetic and offered to have orders re-done but who wants to wait another 25 minutes for eggs and sausage?

We would like to give it one more shot to see if they can overcome this combination of very unfortunate ...

Prices are way too high for the serving size way too high I think McDonald's gives a bigger serving size chili tots loaded tots whatever it was chili taste burnt I ordered the spaghetti for the kids red sauce by chosen noodles with spaghetti they said my chili without asking the garlic bread the garlic butter itself is burnt taste to it sliders to you better be ready to pay big bucks you get one for $5 and it is the size of a White Castle burger and I'm a little woman two White Castle sliders fills me up I was still a little hungry I had their slider animated I need to make that clear you only get one the gyro sandwich some of the meat was undercooked it should have been browned a little longer cooked a little longer actually did you say tomato a half a slice of tomato slice papers then if I still read a newspaper well by golly I've been able to need that paper right through that smell buddy and they give you two strands of onions the strange dreams whatever you want to call damn it look like I had two strings on there I had to look down and double check my gym shoes to make sure Heidi disappointed all the way around was looking so forward me and my family well I guess we'll be in the hunt for another restaurant again next weekend thank you guys for your time reading this I'm just posting because I don't want anyone else to be highly disappointed as me and my family was we work too hard for earning dollars these days again thank everyone for taking the time reading this review then we will get a new review next weekend when we try another one of East Dundee's lovely restaurants may God bless...

My wife and I came in for the grand opening, as we are locals and like to support small businesses in the area. We had been to this location under previous owners and names over the years, and this new establishment is much nicer looking than those before. They have an expanded menu that we sampled. Unfortunately I ordered soup (chipotle chicken) that was not hot and barely luke warm. The flavor was quite nice but hard to get past the poor temperature. Mentioned to my waitress and she said she would tell the kitchen but no apology given. Then we ordered an appetizer (Bavarian pretzels) which when served, did not come with mustard as the menu indicated and came with cold cheese which the waitress said she would bring us a knife to help to spread..... The waitress did not check on us until we were almost done, did not bring the knife, and then looked surprised when I mentioned the mustard, but brought the mustard for the last few bites. We wanted to order more but stopped ordering then and asked for our check. We waited an excessive amount time for the bill, and could have had more beers in the meantime, but the waitress was aloof with co-workers and not paying attention to us. It was not even very busy at this time of night with most employees hanging out by the bar. Then we paid and began to leave, while passing several employees / possible managers/owners on our way out, yet not one said thank you, thanks for coming, or come again.
