I went to Bonefish in Algonquin IL last night with a good friend and we ordered the long awaited winter white martini. The bartender put two martini glasses on the bar and proceeded to shake the martini in front of us and pour the two martinis, but left at least half an inch at the top of each glass. I don’t know about you, but I am aware of volumes in mathematics and the largest volume of a martini glass is obviously at the top and I know that by leaving half an inch at the top of a martini glass, you shorted a customer half of the martini. An $11 martini by the way. After he poured the martini, the bartender clearly saw me look at it, and he knew why I was looking at it, but proceeded to walk away before I could say anything he then helped customers who sat down next to me, and I patiently waited to ask him about my half poured martini, and he looked at me and said you look like you have a question and I told him about the half martini that he poured me. He proceeded to tell me that that’s how martinis are now served at bonefish and actually that’s what all restaurants do. I begged to differ as the week before I had FULL martinis at Bistro Wasabi. I asked him to fill our martini glasses, and he proceeded to say that he would do it this time, but next time he would not. I responded that there would then not be a next time. He brought a clear bottle over and fill our martinis. However, when we took our first drink, we quickly realize that what he filled out martinis with was white cranberry juice. Really cute. If that is indeed the new way martinis will be served at bonefish, good luck getting business. Many people at the bar agreed with me and actually the gentleman who is next to me who the bartender served after me got a martini that was in a rocks glass and it was not even helpful and he was upset about that. Needless to say we paid $11 each for two martinis that were basically white cranberry juice. We’ve had many winter white martinis at bonefish and they all have a cloudy white appearance that look like Fresca soda and these martinis last night looked like white cranberry juice. I will be blasting this in...
Read moreOn Wednesday 16th, I went with two of my friends to have dinner and enjoy the evening. I had to order one of their specialty dinner fresh swordfish and pumpkin ravioli. We did start with an appetizer and enjoying the moment, went the dinner was served, we all start digging into our plates. So I did notice that my fish came like into pieces with I said it is very common, but what was not making sense is the taste bouth pieces they tast differently, by the way I had my son and he asked me the have some and he took from the piece that doesn't taste good and Right away he said, dad, I don't like it I want to spite it out, he is only 4, so I told him sure and I didn't start asking a very serious question, I told myself I was raised in the mediterranien see, so I should tell the difference because in the beginning I thought was the source, I did sniff it and it was horrible and did make one of my friends to do the same and we had a same reaction, I called the waitress and she brought the manager, I did ask him to sniff the fish and I watched very closely his reaction, actually he like back up his head little bit. And he start telling me that this fish is new. I told him listen, this fish is bad. And hi didn't and any words and took the plate away. So I been having an upset stomach for two days now. Please be careful when you receive your food especially a white meat. And if you notice anything unusual stop...

Service is solid across the board. The staff are always friendly and attentive, which I appreciate. That said, there’s a little room for improvement in the small details — things like checking in for drink refills before we have to ask would make the experience even smoother.
The atmosphere is great, especially for an evening dinner. The low lighting and moody vibe make it feel cozy and a little upscale without being stuffy. There’s a full bar if you’re into drinks, and the outdoor seating area with a fire pit is perfect for those cooler fall nights. It adds a really nice touch.
Food-wise, we’ve always been happy. The bread with oil and Parmesan they serve at the start is honestly one of the best parts — simple but really good. They have a wide variety of menu options, so it’s easy to find something you’re in the mood for. Even my kid loves their chicken fingers, and I’ll admit, I’ve stolen a few bites — they’re actually delicious.
Definitely recommend signing up for their rewards program too. You earn points with each visit, and it adds up if you're a regular.
All in all, Bonefish Grill delivers a pleasant dining experience with quality food, good service, and a relaxing atmosphere. Great for a casual date night or a family dinner with something...
