Sunrise Social — Restaurant in Dundee Township

We went here for the first time this morning as my wife wanted to try it. Our waitress was pleasant, the atmosphere was light, it was fairly busy, but we were seated immediately (arrived around 10:15am). They were playing music (seemed like classics from the 80's and 90's - can't believe I'm saying that), loud enough to hear, but not too loud that you couldn't have a normal conversation. I haven't seen it anywhere else around here, but they had a tea infuser pot, with no bag, which I appreciated (greatly reduces the potential of ingesting microplastics) and seemed unique. I had Green Tea. I ordered the Sunrise Scrambler and subbed Cottage Cheese for the Toast or Pancakes/ Potatoes or Fruit. She ordered the California Crepes and Cobb Salad, as well as the Beet Blitz drink. Everything tasted good. My wife has been trying to find a place that beats Sweetberry Cafe's (Elgin) Cali Crepe, and this one came close. VEGETARIAN Highly recommend this place. They have plenty of options that are clearly labeled vegetarian with a sign. My favorite is the portobello scrambler. Its a thick cut of portobello which is super juicy and has a rich flavor profile. Topped with egg whites and veggies, makes it a very unique dish that is very healthy and flavorful. This was the first time I have ever had something like this and I really liked it. If you like mushrooms, I would suggest going here just to try this, its fantastic. The carrot cakes are also very good, they are made with multigrain flour which gives them a nice rich taste and texture. They don’t serve real maple syrup which is a downer :( wish they did.
