Twin Peaks — Restaurant in Dundee Township

This is the longest negative review I've ever written but it is needed. We never got the free chips and queso for signing up for the rewards. They need to update the photos on google because there is no meatball sub anymore. They were all out of soda, what bar is all out of soda? They were also all out of rice pilaf. The server we were originally assigned Mila didn't even know she had a table and Bella had to come talk to us and get a new server for us. The new server that we got passed off to didn't apologize for the inconvenience of us waiting for 10 minutes for a server. The Salsa was gross and served warm just so everyone else knows its warm. The server saw that we put the salsa to the side and didn't ask if there was anything wrong with it. She didn't say anything about the burnt fry in our chips that we set to the side so obviously for her to see. We were supposed to get ketchup for the fries but we didn't get any we had to ask even though it's ok the menu that it comes with it, when we did get it there was a small amount and the cup was filled halfway. She kept disappearing for a while, I thought she was serving other tables but she would just completely disappear for a long time when we wanted ketchup and refills, we didn't get our last refill of cranberry juice for 30 minutes and by that time we were done with our food so she gave us a to go cup, we waited 10 minutes to get the ketchup we were originally supposed to get and finished half our fries before getting it. The girl that was supposed to be our server Mila was so quick to take the table behind us and was so nice to them while looking at us multiple times. Bella was super nice she was not our server but she was the best server in my opinion. This place needs some work but at least they have one...

I really wanted to give this place two stars, but I just didn’t have it in me — we were hungry and tired, and I didn’t want to make a scene. We were seated right away, but the table was greasy and had an unpleasant smell. Not a great first impression, but I let it slide because I was with my girlfriend and just wanted to eat.

We ordered the spicy Thai ribs and the smoky ribs. I got a beer, which took about 10 minutes to arrive, and it wasn’t served in a frosted glass — not the icy cold beer you’d expect. When the food came out, both sets of ribs were literally burnt black and were so tough we could barely cut through them. I had heard good things from a coworker and wanted to give it a fair shot, but this was really disappointing.

The server eventually came by and offered a box since we barely touched the food. When I pointed out how burnt everything was, even she admitted, “Yeah, the kitchen has been terrible today.” The only thing offered was a $5 coupon for next time — honestly, that felt like an insult. A comped meal would’ve been more appropriate given the situation.

We still tipped 23% because we’re not usually the type to complain, but this was far from the experience we expected. I’ve had a much better time at the Twin Peaks in Oak Brook — this location did...

My experience at Twin Peaks in Algonquin yesterday was extremely disappointing and concerning. The food we received was not only poorly prepared, but potentially hazardous to our health.

The chicken wings were undercooked—the skin was pale and rubbery, clearly not cooked thoroughly. The fries were cold, oversalted, and tasted as if they had been sitting out for a while. Both of our sodas were flat, and my husband’s beer had black particles floating in it, which was completely unacceptable. My burger was served cold, and the bun was stale and far from fresh.

It was clear to me that the kitchen staff and chef had no regard for food quality. What made matters worse was that when we voiced our concerns to the waitress, no manager ever came over to address them—a complete lack of accountability or customer service.

Since dining there, I’ve been experiencing a severe headache, nausea, upset stomach, and loose bowels—all signs of possible food poisoning. This has been an awful experience from start to finish, and I will never return.

Don’t be fooled by the 4+ star reviews—this location does not live up to the rating. The food was subpar, the service was dismissive, and I would caution others to think twice...
