This place has become FULL priced books. Especially when it relates to comics. Today: I grab 5 non key Swamp Thing comics. All are reader copies due to the damage, and cannot be regarded as higher than 0.5 as they all had ANIMAL chew on them. I pointed it out to the manager who would not reduce it from $1.00 to 50 cents. Because the 2 dollars total would break the bank. I tried to describe the role grade plays in a paper object, but he was not having it.
Second story- another time my son and I brought in a short box of mixed silver age and Bronze Age. When we came back they offered 10 dollars and change for it. We said no and requested our comics back. We got them back- newly priced. The first five were at a combined price of 325 dollars. They still had over 100 to go.
It’s a scam. They are absolutely clueless on how to grade a comic, they just try to get the most for every comic. I have spent thousands over the years there, I won’t spend a dime until they change their shady, money...
Read moreSo, I started voluntarily working in my high school library to get experience for paid work. I loved it and the women who taught me. I then worked for a college library during my time studying there. I processed incoming and outgoing items. I eventually married a librarian and she's the one taking me to every one of these stores near our home. So I'm biased... toward books and reading. Let's say biased. I like to research the strange and the difficult to find so most book stores just don't have what I'm looking for. Luckily, most of the books I want are written before I was born. This makes going to this gold mine truly a treat. It's basically a Schoolastic Book Fair for adults. You can get rare old books, signed books (which I recently did because it's the only copy of said text I'd ever seen) as well as strange gifts, old memorabilia, and games of every kind. Vinyl, CD's, collectible stuffed uteruses, and giant coins of Elvis. I will probably be going again multiple...
Read moreThis place has a brilliant selection of books, collectables and used movies and games, so there is a lot to explore, but I mainly stop by for the vinyl records. They have a wide variety of new, well cared for used, and the GoodWill style "you get what you pay for" cheap ones. The used ones have been very decent quality with very reasonable prices, especially when compared to a lot of record stores. It's well worth stopping in to take a look. My only complaint is the unprofessional display of woke/leftist propaganda. It's bad business practice to decorate your store in a way which tells half of the country that that aren't welcome. Leave your politics at home, kids. But if, like me, you're looking for a good place to find good vinyl at reasonable prices, including some good finds for real cheap, and you can look past their politics, check this place out....
