Went for brunch with my sister-in-law and our kids. Our Server, food and drinks were great. we had a great time ! On our way out I had set my box down to pay.. having two toddlers running around I ended up leaving my box of food at the register. (it was a Panini & fries and 3 tenders. Having kids most know you don’t get to barley eat your food it was pretty much a whole meal. I spent $57.00 for brunch . Anyways I ended up leaving Made it to the Jewel on 72 approximately five - seven minutes away . I notice I didn’t have my food . I immediately called and told they girl I left my food and she told me that yeah she has my food at the front I said I’ll be back in five minutes to pick it up she said no problem . I get there & Maddie was at the front door. I had asked her about my food she responded lwhat food are you talking about? I told her I left my box here I just spoke to someone she’s like oh who did you speak to because it wasn’t me . She just came off with an attitude before even trying to help me out . then she’s like well there’s food right here in the garbage takes it out of the garbage walks to the back then calls ( I believe her name was Eleanor ) to speak to her she ends up comping back and tells me she can’t do anything about it that it wasn’t her problem or her responsibility that I had left my food there . she’s absolutely right it wasn’t her problem or responsibility . but I literally was gone for 10 minutes and I had already called and spoke to someone about it . there’s obviously no communication in that restaurant . not even that … it’s just the lack of customer service . that was really rude I just spent hard earned money on food that I didn’t even get to eat. and it’s thrown away , and all you can tell me is you can’t do nothing about it because it’s not your problem !?!? I’ve been a server for five years now I would’ve never tell the customer that it’s not my problem … do better. hopefully You guys come into my restaurant one day and I’m able to show you Good customer service. I wasn’t expecting a full meal back . but the lack of care or even trying to sound like you care or just an apologize about it … or maybe just replace the kids meal or just the sandwich … or 10% of my next visit ..anything , would’ve been fine but the whole it’s not my problem was...
Read moreI am a Customer Relations Manager for a living and I am EXTREMELY disappointed in what has been my favorite breakfast joint for many many years. I left the city of Chicago early yesterday (Sunday) morning just to have breakfast here, instead of stopping somewhere downtown. When I arrived I put my name in for 3 people. My boyfriend, myself, and my 10 year old son (who was not there yet, but who was being dropped off by my dad after taking baseball photos). Our name was called after 20 minutes and they said they couldn't seat us until the entire party was present. Understood. Then I started thinking.....my son already ate this morning at his grandparents house so we'd just need a spot for him to sit with us, once he showed up, until we were done. I told the staff that it would just be my boyfriend and I eating and that my son would just need a seat to join us. Again, told we couldn't be sat until he was there. I argued the point a little bit because we were hungry, and they said they would ask their manager, Veronica. In front of everyone Veronica made sure to tell me loud and clear, again, that she "couldn't seat us until the entire party was present, regardless of whether or not he was eating because we have a process and need to turn tables". Another customer exclaimed "I'll sit with you until your son arrives" clearly also feeling that Veronica's statement was inappropriate. After a few exchanges she finally sat us. I'm sorry, but if my son isn't eating you'll be able to turn the table in the same amount of time!! I just didn't want him sitting on my lap when he arrived so I wanted to make sure we got a table, or booth that would seat at least the 3 of us. Once we were sat I looked around the restaurant and there was only 1 table in the whole place that sat 2 people and that table was occupied by a couple ladies in the middle of their breakfast!!! The rest were 4 or more. When we got sat there were several booths available and only 1 other couple in the waiting room. So what was the big deal about seating us so we could eat??!! We were starving and ordered a couple bloody mary's and mimosas so we spent some $$$! Our server Julia was amazing so we gave her a nice tip! Thank you Julia!! Veronica, you don't belong in the service industry if you don't know how to...
