Lumpy's Tavern — Restaurant in Dundee

If I could give them no stars I would. I have never had an experience quite like this at a place before. I brought my bottle of water in with me (like I always do on league nights) I was told I could not have it in there as they do not sell that, my husband took it out to the car, then went and ask them what kind of water they had for sale. They told him tap water. He told them I would end up in the hospital if I drank that and was then told they had diet tap water. They didn't care that I couldn't drink tap water and what it would do to me if I did. Their attitude towards us was unacceptable as we are patrons of the bar for a pool league which brings them in money. I have no desire to spend money on their food/drinks or even go back and will make sure that all my friends know how I was treated. Me bringing my water is like me bringing a medicine and yet it is not allowed but they don't sell bottles of water and if I don't stay...

Unless you are drinking beer, you will be short-poured. I was a master bartender in a national org and was tested on free pour counts and amounts regularly. I counted a 3.5 count pour of premium bourbon.

I asked the bartender how much he poured. He said "a four count, an ounce and a half". He actually poured less than an ounce. I mentioned this to him and he said that he used to do that (6 count), but his Manager told him to change it. So apparently the entire staff has been trained to short-pour. At FULL price. Not good. Almost half of the alcohol for full price. And I have seen it from more than one bartender on multiple visits. Be aware.

Suggest that you ask them to use a jigger to assure that you are getting what...

OMFG...What an amazing experience & burger today at Lumpy's Tavern. Tina served me and cooked my burger. I had the "Lumpy's" special burger, with ham, bacon, mushrooms, cheese, lettuce, onion, etc., etc., etc. Totally amazing and likely the best burger of my almost 60 years!
