After a good workout at “The gym,” a few doors down I decided to go to Benedict’s for a protein filled breakfast and was overwhelmed by the service of one particular waitress, whose name is Nadine. The only reason I know her name is because the gentleman sitting next to me was continuously using it as he was one of the most annoying people I have ever heard, speak. He felt it necessary to comment on every single thing that occurred around him. He interrupted everyone when they were speaking and chose to constantly ask me questions which I continue to ignore yet he persisted .Nadine handled this man with absolute grace and kindness as she did everyone else. Nadine greeted me immediately with a giant smile and kind voice welcoming attitude and very quick attentive service. She immediately brought me coffee and water, and I had a menu in front of me within 30 seconds of meeting her. This girl clearly knows her job and is probably one of the best servers I have ever met in my life. Having been a server for many years. I know exactly how hard this job is and having to deal with so many personalities and serving so many people every day it is very easy to become frustrated and overwhelmed. Nadine was none of those things -despite the busy Sunday morning rush I even heard her speak to a few of the other waitresses who seem to be lagging and with some motivational words and reminding them that “it’s everybody’s job to clear tables and we have to make sure we stay on top of everything. We are a team here, girls” There were a few other waitresses working, however none of them shone as bright as the light that came from Nadine. She is clearly a team leader and should be running the entire restaurant. I have no idea who owns Benedict’s, but they need to understand what they have in this person. If this girl isn’t making six figures running your establishment then you’re missing out on something big. You don’t find people like this very often. I plan on making my apres workout meal on Sundays at Benedict’s a ritual now that I know someone like that could be waiting for me with a smile. Much respect to...
Read moreI visited this location this past Sunday. I was there with my elderly grandmother for thanksgiving. When we arrived the wait to be seated was not long and we were able to be seated about 15 minutes later. Once we were seated is when the problems started. A waitress by the name of Teresa came over to our table and started off rude. I understood that the place was busy so we tried working with her attitude. She insulted my grandmas choice of food and the berated her about getting a tomato on the side rather than on her sandwich. After she had taken our order we did not see her for the next 45 minutes. I had to get up and ask a completely different waitress for a coffee refill. Once I was sat back down at my table we heard the waitress that covered for Teresa say “ I was just trying to save your table and you.” So even the other staff was confused on her behavior and work. Anyways I left this all pass. We finished our meals and asked for the check. I watched Teresa pick up our check. Look down at the tip. (Which at first I wasn’t going to tip because of the service, but I felt bad). She immediately started to give us nasty look and mean mug us. We don’t know if she was trying to intimidate us or what. This was happening so much I had to ask for a manager. Once the manager came out he was very apologetic to my grandmother and I, but as he was talking to us, Teresa was still giving us dirty look. I pointed it out as the manager was talking and he even saw it and started apologizing. Once he had left I’m guess the head waitress came over and apologized too, but Teresa was still gives us nasty looks and mean mugging us and then the head waitress asked us just to ignore it. This type of behavior is not acceptable. She was not only harassing a 72 year old lady but ruining what could be my last holiday breakfast with her. I hope the management at this place gets rid of this bad apple. Overall the place was fine, but is not worth getting ugly looks over a waitress not doing her job for the basic food. I will not be returning to this location and will go more south for the other...
Read moreI dine here with my friends and dogs on the front patio. Diners from inside walk past as they leave. They are frequently smiling and talking about their wonderful meal and service. I truly have never ordered a breakfast or lunch that I did not enjoy or felt was prepared without care. The staff wants you to tell them if somethng does not meet your expectations and will do what is needed to make it right. I've only rarely seen them be asked. Benedict's Benedict is superb, their omelets are large and delicious. They allow you to select from multiple sides with your meal without added charge. Instead of the three basic toast selections, they also offer sourdough and have apple butter amongst the jam & jelly selections. Their quiche is to die for, with homemade fruit & nut breads. The coffee is excellent, iced or hot, and they'll pore you a to-go cup. It's the little things and the quality of food and service which makes Benedicts the place of choice. I would be causing myself a problem by extolling their virtues to potential new customers, because their patrons come in waves, and it can be tough to find a table at high tide. However, this morning there was talk of an additional new location opening off NE Coachman and Belcher. Yea! I eat breakfast and/or lunch out daily, and our area has many good places to select from. If I could only dine at one, I would be content to make it Benedict's. And no, I have no affiliation with the business or staff, although I'm treated as a good friend. a. becken, Johnny Cash,...
