We were looking for a good place to eat breakfast while on vacation in Dunedin. We chose Brenda's based on the mostly glowing reviews. As soon as we walked in, we realized we picked the wrong place. This place is a dive, and is in dire need of a refresh. They still had a bunch of tacky Christmas "decor" up in late January, including a "Duck Dynasty" santa. Our waitress was a bit grumpy. My coffee was awful and they didn't even have real lemons for my husbands tea, just little packages of "lemon juice" at our table. My coffee mug was just a cheap one that came from a real estate office, and was chipped all over. We placed our order and after sitting there for awhile realized we didn't want to eat there. If the food was anything like the atmosphere and bad coffee and tea, we didn't want it. Plus we had to listen to a very loud woman who was a few booths away, who went on to disparage African American's. We asked if our order had been started since we changed our mind and wanted to leave. They didn't seem very happy about that but thankfully we didn't get stuck eating here. To be fair, we didn't try the food but are basing our review on everything I stated above. Oh, and Brenda really should update the prices on her website. They look to be about...

I don't usually leave negative reviews, I just talk with my money and don't return. I just have to... First, it's a small, quaint place that we decided to try out. It reminded me of other small diners I've been. We figured it's breakfast, how long could it take? The positive, the food was great when we finally received it. The negative, we sat for a while before finally being waited on...that was our first mistake (waiting). We ordered coffees and should have left as ordering took another 20 more mins. Then even getting a refill took a while. As we waited for our food, we watched as some people that arrived after us received food, ate, and left. Only 1 table was still there that I recognized when we were finished. I felt like I was held hostage for over 2 hours of my life. Getting our bill also took a while as our waitress never came back after dropping the food off. I had to get up to ask another one of the staff for it. Wait staff seemed very disorganized... I don't know if it's usually like this or was just a bad day, but I don't know if I'd give them a second chance to...

I've been there three times so far, and each time the server / waitress is a bit sardonic and not happy. It's like they don't want to be there, and make you feel part of their unhappiness. The food is good not great, and the prices are very reasonable, but the overall experience is not worth going! Last time I took my girlfriend there, whom had never been there before, and we waited 15 minutes to get service after we got our water. That meant that the server knew that we were there and I was hungry, as a diabetic I was really getting low and did not appreciate the fact that the server passed our table six times without stopping after delivering the water. I will never go there again! Which is said, because I like to support the mom and pop shops. Had the food been outstanding and the service adequate I would rant about it, but that is not the case. There are so many other choices, which is why the other places are full! Skip this one, and do yourself a favor. Stay happy, life is too short to be sullen sad and provide...

All your favorite American breakfasts are cooked to Perfection here at Brenda's in a very homey little cafe setting right on the Dunedin Causeway. The my two favorite things that I go there for is the sticky cinnamon buns and I also when I have a sweet tooth like to get a blueberry pancake or two with a regular breakfast her blueberry pancakes are the best in town I don't know why they just make them better here. NEW: I am issuing a cross~the~area notice that there are so many really innovative and what I like to call gourmet grunge Recipes like the ones you see on the gourmet cooking shows and things don’t seem to change very often at many of our local restaurants so I am asking that chefs do specials quite often with really innovative or gourmet grunge items. I’m gonna have my own rating system from now on we’re at the beginning of every review I’m going to say whether I’m bored with this place and they’ll be three degrees of this. Bored, relatively excited, and exciting and innovative.

Great home style diner cooking. Was like eating breakfast at mom's house. The french toast is exactly how you wish you could make french toast at home. Perfect thick slices of bread and classic egg wash batter cooked to perfection. The hash was good too. Thinly sliced so it cooks with a 50/50 equal parts crispy potato and regular potato. Was mad I didn't get the home made sticky buns to being home but we had to tap out after our meals. Felt very family friendly in there, like as soon as you walk in your gonna run into your cousins, maybe an aunt or uncle and some other relatives. Food was VERY reasonably priced. Great spot to stop before or after a long day at the beach and grab some grub.

Michael's Special Corn beef hash w/scrambled eggs, mushrooms, onions n cheese... in memory of Michael D. Moran 10/7/18... good coffee, waited on by Norma & Rose, with Brenda cooking our food...good family n friends supporting this local Dunedin Causeway treasure, gateway to Honeymoon and Caladesi Island State Parks. Flash forward to November 2nd, 2023 - Ms Brenda's is still serving Delicious food. Today was Chip beef and crispy home fries. Mrs Luana Bunting-Moran enjoyed eggs over, a big slice of grilled ham, homefries & rye toast. A local Dunedin Causeway favorite with good Ole home cooking. Thank you Ms. Brenda R.i.p. Rose & Mike Moran you're always in our hearts 💕
