Zupko's Tavern — Restaurant in Dunellen

Sub-par food, lack of customer service, and the waitresses don't actually like to 'wait' on the customers. I live in Dunellen, and the way my friends and I were treated was not only bad on the restaurants part, but actually a lack of ethics and morals that human beings standardly abide by. Seeing 3 young girls, one of them being myself, struggle in heavy rain, lightning and thunder, and refusing to help us as our phones, belongings, and food all got poured on, is uncivilized, especially since that would be their job to serve us and help us. They didn't even deliver us take out boxes, they were too busy sheltering from the rain as we all got drenched. When we complained they denied everything, wouldn't provide a refund, and since our pizza was originally ruined due to the heavy rain, they provided us a new one, but of course one that was less money and different from what we ordered. Oh, and, they refused to provide water for free with a meal, one must pay $2 for a water bottle, even though restaurants, especially if they serve alcohol, are required to provide free water, but it's also a common courtesy to be provided water when eating out. They said they can charge and do whatever they want. I know if I seen people struggling in the rain with their belongings and food getting drenched I would help them, you wouldn't even have to pay me, apparently that's too much to ask of these...

This place has excellent wings, and thin crust pizza, this is your place. I can be a bit pick with my food and I enjoy the pizza here. Wednesday is wing nights, get there early it starts at 8 and gets busy. There buffalo wings are not salty like other places, and that's a plus. All the wing option are good try them all. I have not been disappointed here. Wings are not breaded, and always come out fresh. I drive out my way to go here, Thursday is Karaoke night, the gentleman who hosts it is excellent he has a nice voice and tries to engage the audience. There is no judgement here just fun, great crowd. This place has a mixed crowd, multicultural and you wont feel out of place, just welcomed. As you can probably summarize I have been here many times. They have a good menu, I've tried other food on the menu and have not been disappointed. They have range from sandwiches to meals, steak and potatoes, veggie options. You will find something...

You can't deny they have nice cold beer, and food is pretty good, but that does not make up for the VERY VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. There is a saying, if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen.

These bartenders have no clue what service is and the fact that they smile and serve you a beer and when you walk away they talk trash about their customers in front of or to other customers is shameful. I've heard it many times as I frequented this place very often and I've spent lots of $$$, and they are nasty and rude.

The manager and bartender are sisters so a conflict of interest and there is no reprimand for the immature sister, who has no customer service but when you yourself don't have any either, what can you expect.

However, the lunch girls are awesome and aren't recognized enough.
