Gaetano's Subs — Restaurant in Dunnellon

Brought my girls out for lunch here today, my youngest has really wanted a sub! The prices were high (around $9.00 for a sub with no extras) but I remember the subs being excellent years ago. I went to order ice waters and was told we had to purchase drinks. A bottle of water was almost $3.00! I asked if we could get our ice waters from the car and was told absolutely not by the rude front desk lady. My youngest got her kids meal which we thought would be a sub, but it was just a sandwich that we could have easily made at home. My sub had one tiny slice of pickle on it, so I asked for more and was told I would have to be charged! That was the final straw for me. The manager came out and was equally rude, telling me “the pickles come in slices”. Sure they do, so place a few on a large sub please! Small business owners better wake up! This is why they are going out of business, and I assume it’s only a matter of time for this place. GOOD customer service disappeared with COVID I guess. Next time, I’ll go to an actual restaurant and get full meals for...

We went in for a chicken Caesar salad. Was asked if we would like the blackened chicken and we stated just regular chicken. Then was asked if we would like drinks and my friend had her own water bottle and the cashier stated that “she doesn’t allow outside drinks” to which my friend replied “ I wont drink out of it” my friend had her bottle across the table from her then the girl from the back brought our salad out and said if we want to eat inside that my friend would have to take her drink out or she can pack our salad to go. Then we asked the cashier for an extra plate or container since we are sharing and she said “you know shes a stickler so she will charge you for it” (I’m assuming shes talking about the owner) we took our salad to go which did NOT come with chicken on it and then when I asked about it I was told that we said regular caesar salad. This salad was 11.29 before tip. This salad was not worth it. It came with watered down caesar dressing, tiny croutons and chunks or romaine hearts. Definitely...

First time there cuz reviews were great..BS I ordered Chicken Philly..No mushroons...lightly toasted plz.. Out came the sub..looked fine.. Took my first bite and I tasted mushrooms..(oh did I mention Im Allergic to them, hence I said No mushrooms).. I told the order person, her reply was OMG Im so sorry..We can fix you another.. This time when it got to our table, it was so over toasted, it was crumbling in my fingers.. A man setting next to us ask how is it..(it was his first time in also..) My guess is, by the look on my face, he need not know how it was.. We will not go back for round (3) if your wondering..
