Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Durant

We visited Applebee’s on 12/28/24 for a late dinner. We were immediately sat down and our server David greeted us. David was very attentive, customer focused, friendly, and had a great attitude not only with us, but all his customers/tables. Prior to ordering, we asked David about the Really Big Meal Deal, as we had recently seen a commercial on TV about it back at home in Texas. We asked if the fries were really endless fries or not, we even showed him a video of the commercial I recorded on my phone at home the week before, which we all found funny that I had video of the Applebee’s commercial, lol. As we were showing him the video the hostess even came over to watch it to. David was like hmmm, let me check with my manager on those endless fries. Well come to find out for that location the endless fries would start the 1st week of the new year, so we were bummed, but it was okay, either way the Really Big meal deal was a great deal anyways. We ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer it was brought out pretty quickly and our meals came shortly after. My husband had the burger and I had the chicken sandwich, overall the food was hot, fresh and tasty. David refilled our drinks before we asked and constantly checked on us. He was knowledgeable and detail oriented. We are really glad we left the casino to get a good meal and we were not disappointed with the service, food quality and atmosphere at this Applebee’s location. I did mention to David that I would write this review, it took some time for me to get around to doing this but I didn’t forget and hope that this review is shared with David, please commend him for a job well done! We will definitely be back for the food, great service...

I’ve been a regular customer at the Durrant Applebee’s location and have always had positive experiences—until recently. During our latest visit, we requested that our salmon be cooked slightly under the standard temperature, as my mother prefers it on the medium-rare side. Our server courteously informed us that due to company policy, they are required to cook salmon to a minimum internal temperature for food safety, which we completely understood and respected.

However, the situation escalated unnecessarily when the manager, Lisa, approached our table. Rather than calmly reinforcing the policy, she addressed us in a condescending tone and stated that items would not be comped simply because they were overcooked. At no point did we request a comp or argue; we were merely clarifying a preference.

Unfortunately, Lisa continued to escalate the situation. When our food arrived, she returned with several staff members to our table to inform us that the entire team had been briefed on the issue. This public display felt excessive and frankly, embarrassing.

Having worked in the restaurant industry for over 15 years, I found the handling of this situation to be highly unprofessional. What could have been a simple clarification turned into an uncomfortable and disruptive experience that negatively impacted our...

I use to love going here, but the last 3 times I came I was not impressed. The first I ordered it through Doordash and it never came. When I called Applebee's they said call Doordash and both places said it was the others job and it took about a month to get my money back for food I never received, the order was never even picked up. The second most recent time I went with my mother and children. It took forever for the food to come out and it was cold. My moms drink sit on the bar and almost melted before we even got it and the food just was not as good expect or use to be. Now we decided to give them one more try and wish I had not. There was 7 of us total but showed up at different times. We stood at the door for 10 minutes before we were even seated. Our drinks took about 20 minutes to come out and our appetizers showed up with our food. The service was very slow and was not even busy. Our server spent more time in the kitchen then on the floor but was nice and apologized, then made me sit for another 10 minutes for me to pay and get my card back. To top off the whole situation there was blood all over the bathroom floor. When we informed her she said sorry but I can't clean it someone else has too and it sit in there until after we left.
