Hot Shots Coffee — Restaurant in Durant

Where to start...My daughter worked at Hot Shots for about 3 years. She never received a raise, appreciation, positive feedback etc. The owner and her favorite employee ALWAYS works the first shift, period. When you work with the owner best be ready to split your tips with her. That's right folks, the owner needs tips on a daily basis. Hmm. Any who my daughter was in a car accident broke her arm and STILL went to work. Now she was not able to make coffee but she worked the register among other things. Well when you work the register, you don't get tips cause you didn't make coffee. Buy yet she dealt with all the customers...As far as a owner of a business, Ms. Shauna does horrible. Her kids and 1 favorite employee always comes first. Of course after her though. Then the rest of the employees are treated poorly. Not to mention the heath hazard they have going on in the back. I can go on forever about this place but mostly the ownership but all good things must come to an end just like Hot Shots. New coffee place going in on University called Blake's Coffee Shop. This owner is extremely nice, cares about her employees, so far anyway. This owner actually has a barista degree and KNOWS her coffee. She has traveled, literally, the world researching coffee....

I walk in and immediately got looks. It is decorated with a heavy influence of Christianity. Bible verses painted on the wall. Overall, the place looks nice. The people however, definitely are snobby. Either you are from there and part of the clique or you are not. When I walked up to the register, the lady looked at me and went about making drinks. It was at least 4 minutes before I was acknowledged. No hello or welcome, just "what would you like." I will say, the drink came out fast. I ordered an americano. It was warm, not hot. I asked for room for cream but, the cream is added behind the counter. I came here because: It's the only coffee shop in Durant that I could find. They advertised local art. I love seeing art from different areas of the country! I was not disappointed with the art. They had about 6 paintings displayed.

Overall, you are better off going somewhere else unless you want to check out a couple paintings. I will never return on...

I love their coffee don’t get me wrong but my experience today was awful. I went through the drive through and ordered 4 drinks. I felt awful for not going in but I was running errands and didn’t have time. I got 2 brown sugar cinnamon iced lattes for my brothers and those were fine. But I got me and my mom caramel toffee nut breve iced macchiato (hers with white chocolate as well) and they weren’t good. Their macchiato didn’t have whip cream (they say it comes with whip cream) and it was made as a latte not a macchiato. There was coffee grinds in the bottom of all of the coffees and the customer service was awful. The girl who was working the drive thru was rude and the guy looked over to see who was ordering ig and acted like I was interrupting something when he’s at work (even though his job is to make coffee) I used to go to the Hot Shots in Calera and it was definitely better and there was way better customer service. Honestly...
