Several years ago I discovered a real gem of a restaurant tucked away in Durant where the food is always fresh and delicious, and the personal service really hard to beat, at decent prices. Asian Gourmet is really just that. Real gourmet food made to order. The hardest part is deciding what to order.
Their extensive menu has something for everyone from soup and appetizers, to an amazing assortment of entrées. When you sit down to eat there, be prepared: You're in for a real treat. Your culinary journey is about to start! I finally managed to narrow down my own favorites to a short list of the who's who of Asian Gourmet Chinese food. You can too.
Personally, I think one must start their dining journey with a spring roll and some egg drop or hot and sour soup, or always tasty won ton soup. Now for the coup de resistance. Whether it's their Happy Family, an incredible combination of jumbo shrimp, scallops, crab meat, beef, pork and chicken & assorted veggies in a brown sauce, or their delicious Triple Delight, another awesome combination of beef, chicken and shrimp & veggies in their special garlic sauce, you are well on your way to a meal you won't soon forget.
Out of all of the different items on their menu, I've managed to put my own list together. I suggest you go eat there and put together your own special list. Try one of these and some of that. You can't go wrong, and you certainly won't go hungry. You too will give them 5...
Read moreLet me start by saying my wife loves this place. Me, not so much.
My wife gets lunch here a lot. She says it's always good.
I've been here a total of 4 times. Actually I've eaten in the restaurant 4 times and my wife has brought me something home twice.
The 1st time I went everything was really good. Good food, good service,, and a very clean restaurant.
The 2nd time I went I had a dish with beef. The beef was a little over cooked and a bit tough.
The last 2 times has been things that my wife has ordered a brought home to me. Well, let me say that it's generally around an hour from when she picks up the food till I have a chance to sit down and eat. So it could be the time frame.
When I eat the food I eat it at room temperature. I DID NOT reheat it. Both times it was something that at home was both very overcooked and very tough.
In fact, the last time I threw it away and ate a turkey sandwich. I hate turkey sandwiches.
EDIT: My wife had brought it home 3 more times. It always taste good. However, the beef is just tough and over done. Stick with the chicken dishes. Their are better. The soups are a bit better in spite of the Hot and sour feeling like someone dumped a ton of gelatin in it...
Read moreUsually I love going to this restaurant. I was back in town for the first time in a year or so and thought I would try it again. We ordered online and put ASAP, so we wouldnât have a huge wait. We wait 20 minutes or so then head to the restaurant, which is another 10 minutes. I get there and they say itâs another 20 minute wait. Okay, fine. A little upset but I understand. He asks me to pay before I even wait the 20 minutes so I tell him I will pay when I return. We waste another 20-30 minutes at dollar tree in town, then return. I return to them telling me to wait again. Along with 5 other people waiting. I told them they have a few minutes, and they promptly finally bring out my familyâs food and refused to acknowledge anything I said, even a thank you from me. This was the worst service I received, especially when it was an online order. I was as patient and polite as I could be, but that was so ridiculous for a restaurant that was supposed to be the best small business in 2020. I will happily not return...
