I'll start with the good thing. The coffee looked and felt like it should for a boutique specialty coffee. Someone has developed the required skill set. Now for the reasons I won't be going back. I asked for something decadent. The male owner made a recommendation so I tried it. It wasn't quite as bad as Starbucks. I also had the sausage, egg, and cheese burrito. The tortilla had that chemical taste that indicates it's expired. The supposed egg had no hint of egg flavor or texture. The sausage was that cheap, thin patty type with no pork flavor at all. Even after opening it up to add the salsa, I can't say whether it had anything that was supposed to fill the role of cheese. I don't frequent coffee boutiques and this one gave me another reason not to. To be fair, I have traveled a lot and have experienced similar types of places but with offerings that showed that they respect their customers. The owner should be ashamed of himself for not telling me that they had no coffee to fit my request and for serving ultra-processed food substitutes instead of real food at...

I travel through Durant about 2-3 times a year and I heard about opera house a few years ago and I’ve been coming every time I’m in town since then. It used to be amazing! Delightful staff, great coffee, and good food. However, the past two times I’ve visited haven’t been good. I wonder if this joint changed owners (has been for sale multiple times?) bc it sure feels like it is under new management. The first bad visit was a few months ago and the man working seemed to be very unhappy and the coffee he served me was not good, definitely the worst I’ve had from there. I went again a few days ago and once again the staff seemed very unhappy to be there. Normally this wouldn’t bother me but no one seemed happy to serve me at all and it left me in a bad mood. I am greatly effected by the moods of others so this was very hard on me. The coffee was once again sub par. Suffice to say I’ll be finding another coffee shop to visit when I’m going...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Opera House Coffee — Where Legends Are Brewed

Opera House Coffee is hands-down the best coffee in Southern Oklahoma, bar none! This isn’t just a coffee shop — it’s a temple of caffeine-fueled greatness, a gathering place where ordinary mortals sip from mugs of pure inspiration.

The London Fog here isn’t merely a drink — it’s an elixir of power and focus, said to be the secret fuel of BigFoot Mike himself. One cup, and he’s been known to accomplish 72 hours of work in just eight. True story.

Every latte is crafted with the precision of a maestro, every pastry feels like it was baked by angels on their day off. The vibe? A mix of cozy hometown charm and creative electricity — the kind of place where ideas are born, friendships are forged, and dreams get their first jolt of caffeine.

If you find yourself anywhere near Durant, OK, do yourself a favor: stop by Opera House Coffee. You won’t just get coffee — you’ll get a legend...

We stopped by Opera House Coffee while passing through on our way toward Texas. It’s set in a charming old building with lots of space and character. The atmosphere is relaxed and the place feels like it has real potential. The coffee was well-made, and the baristas were friendly and clearly know what they’re doing. There’s a large open area inside that could use a bit more attention in terms of layout—it currently feels more like a cafeteria than a cozy café. Even a few dividers or rearranged furniture could really enhance the comfort. Still, it’s a solid coffee stop with good energy and great people behind the counter. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area and need a quality cup in a laid-back setting.

All hail the greatest snickerdoodle in the Southwest! Less than a month ago I had no idea paninis could be found in Durant & had resigned to occasionally going stopping by Panera in Sherman when I could. Thank goodness a friend pointed this place out to me. I am not a coffee drinker so I just order sammiches & lemonade. Though I must say if you stop by here & not order the brown sugar snickerdoodle, you're doing yourself a disservice. The paninis are good; Tillamook cheddar is on the menu, $1.99 soup Monday special (with purchase of a sammich) is worth a visit. The cafe is clean, service friendly & fast. I am a new lifelong customer!

Another day to get out and ride the bike, I had no idea this town had several coffee shops. This had a 5 star rating so of course I had to check it out. I was pleasantly pleased with the staffs friendliness, the cleanliness and the overall atmosphere of this coffee shop. The prices are average, the coffee was awesome !!! I also had the coffee cake which was a little dry, but I ate it anyway. Nothing the coffee couldn’t wash down. There are no half stars because of the pastry so I gave it 5 to be fair.
