This was a very disappointing experience. This is my wife’s favorite spot. This has been a spot that I normally come weekly. It all started when my wife was pregnant and this was her pregnancy craving that has open up that door to come here more often came in. Did my normal routine in the Manager with so rude when I tried to ask him his name he says I don’t have to give it to you he was very smart Alec and rude to his customers. I’m not sure if I ever go back to this location. all because I ordered a bow and asked for my fixings to be on the side he said I would have to charge you to put the sides in a cup. I asked him when has I ever been a thing he says it’s always been like that he ignore me and said you have too much food, is it too much food when you just order a normal bowl the employee is the one that put the too much rice not me. He asked the employee did I get a double he said no to the manager, but the manager made the order very difficult all because I did not want my fixings inside the bowl, I thought it would be easier to have it on the side. I always do because my wife likes to slowly add the fixings in her bowl. I think whoever is his boss needs to have a one on one conversation with him this dude needs to step down and re-earn his position, because this is not how you treat the community and the people that come in is helping him get his paycheck by us supporting the community by buying food for your local business i’m not saying he needs to be fired but a setback and I wake up call for this employee. He needs to remember where he came from and remember all the hard work. It took to get that position and not being so hardheaded to customers I came into just feed my family to get in a argument with a a manager on duty all I do is ask can you please put it on the side? I can’t believe it came out of his mouth. I was shocked. All the employees was looking at him like my...
Read moreI usually leave only good reviews, but this deserves some attention. I have come here for years because it's right across from where I work. Today was my last time, sadly.
Service was beyond terrible. I found a plastic sticker in my guac while I was eating, so I didn't even get 2 tacos worth out of this bowl.
I requested what I always do: 2 tacos to go in a tin or bowl, and the manager started yelling that I "can't do that. And then continuing to talk loudly about how I was trying to get more food." The poor kid who was trying to help me was so confused, and everyone was looking at me. I was super embarrassed and just said "what ever, please put food in the bowl. I promise I'm not trying to cheat the taco system." I was super embarrassed. The girl rolled her eyes at me when I was obviously frustrated and ancxious.
I actually wanted less food, surprising from a fat lady, I know but 3 tacos is too many. The taco bowl is ginormous. I just wanted the smaller portion.
I paid $16 for way more food than I can eat, and it will not last overnight (because I get guac, it gets nasty). I couldn't eat it anyway because it had plastic stickers in it and it is overpriced in general.
Because I can usually come here and eat quietly and the staff has historically been nice, I liked it, especially because social anxiety and familiarity kinda worked in Chipotle's favor. Never chancing that again, and I hope this review spares someone else...
Read moreWe all know Chipotle is designed to make our ordering efficient and fast. This Chipotle is no exception and is staffed well to handle the Duke lunch time rush (11:30-2PM) each day. I found this visit was well staffed yet subtle changes are making each visit less friendly. This team has few turnovers so I was impressed with the service and familiar faces. What i noticed on this visit was early symptoms of staff burnout. It is not easy serving the public as many of us have experienced and or observed. I will quickly contrast and compare a similar service model to this one. The Guasaca on Main Street Durham is staffed with staff fully engaged to serve each customer. I am always greeted warmly by each team member and often see the owner working the line to fill when needed. This location serves the west campus Duke campus and Duke east campus as it is nicely located right at the intersection of Anderson and Main. Each team member looks me in the eye and always efforts to write down my order and recite back to me what I have requested. This is obviously leadership driven to create an exceptional customer experience and minimize buyer's remorse.
Chipotle is growing so fast that it needs now more than ever to fall back on the behaviors that led to their success. It is the food that brigs us in but the service that keeps us...
