This Krispy Kreme is poorly managed. This year Krispy Kreme has decided to implement a new policy that does not allow anyone to place a large order a head of time on Valentine's Day.
(I tried to call this location for a week straight prior to Valentine's Day with no answer. I was forced to call their corporate office so that someone from the Durham store would call me back.)
When someone finally returned my call I was informed to go there this morning and I would be able to order and receive 14 dozen donuts (7 glazed and 7 of the valentine special).
I arrived at the store at 6:20AM and did not order for one hour. After ordering I was told I needed to wait 20 as they were making the glazed donuts. In the mean time, the associates continued to take orders and give out glazed donuts to other guests who were in line behind me.
35 minutes later - now close to 8AM, I have still not received my order. Why? They simple forgot they took my order after I had paid $150.35 for this order. At that point in time, the donut machine had stopped working and they had given out ALL of the glazed donuts.
Frustrated - I decided to take anything. My time and efforts we wasted as I did not receive the donuts I paid for to pass out to my staff.
The employees did wrong by not starting to fill my order after I placed it, but the management team placed these employees in a losing battle. Staffing was low, the machine broke, and their were NO extra employees to inform the customers in and outside that they would not be able to place their order.
I'm not on hold with the corporate office to discuss this situation, but as expected "they are experiencing a large call volume" and I'm still currently holding.
This will be the LAST time that I or my company supports...
Read moreThey never have ANYTHING in stock, always out of 90% of the menu, I have gone at different times on different days and they have been nothing but a CONSTANT disappointment for the past couple of years. Every time I give them a chance, I can't get what I want. This time, my husband asked if they had fresh donuts ready. The woman at the register said yes. she handed us a dozen ICE COLD donuts, like they were pulled out of a fridge. You could feel through the box how cold they were. They weren't always this bad, but I guess those days are long gone. I am truly impressed by how badly they run this place. More often than not, the employees have an attitude, like you're bothering them for coming. I'm not coming back here anymore. If I have to go to Raleigh for Krispy Kreme, then so be it.
EDIT: 2 months later, I went again, despite my better judgement. It's a Saturday morning, the HOT LIGHT is on, I went to the drive thru and asked for HOT donuts, and I received COLD doughnuts. I parked my car, went inside, lo and behold, they're making the fresh donuts. I requested a dozen hot donuts, gave back the cold ones, and they just handed it to me, no apology or anything. They're doing this on purpose, they just don't expect anyone to complain. If you use the drive thru, be ready to go inside the store to correct your order. Check your order before you leave!!
Also, as usual, they don't have all the donuts on the menu in stock. Good luck if you want...
Read moreIf I could give ZERO stars I definitely would. So I ordered on 3/5/25 doughnuts for a breakfast party for a nurse that was leaving Duke Hospital. My card was charged on 3/5 with the pick up date of 3/6. I arrived to pick up at 7am on 3/6. The whole store was completely closed. No one in sight. I waited for an hour to see if anyone was coming. Nope never showed. Needless to say never got my doughnuts but they definitely got their money. Had to show up to work empty handed. I called and even by at least 3 times during the day. But they was still closed. Stop by the following morning to get my refund. Wasn't greeted when I walked in. I asked to speak with the manager and the lady rolled her eyes and walked away. The manager came and I asked what happened. He nonchalantly said they had to close because him or the other manger couldn't make it in. I asked why they still take order for pick up on that date if the knew they would be closed. He nonchalantly said corporate was in charge of that and he not sure why they didn't close the pickup option for that day....needless to say this was very unprofessional and unappreciative of people's time and money.
