A Rise Above: Charming Breakfast Haven with Unique Perspectives
Nestled snugly in the heart of Durham, Rise presents itself as a delightful breakfast nook with an unmistakable charm. As a frequenter of breakfast joints, I was drawn to Rise by the promise of freshly baked biscuits and a cozy atmosphere. My experience was marked by a mix of pleasant surprises and intriguing observations.
While some might find this initially surprising or even disconcerting, I found it added an unexpected layer of charm to the atmosphere. Rather than feeling out of place, I quickly embraced the novelty of being surrounded by individuals of varying heights. It provided a refreshing change of pace from the usual dining experience.
Now, onto the main event: the biscuits. Oh, how they exceeded my expectations! Fresh out of the oven, these golden delights were flaky, buttery, and simply irresistible. Paired with a generous dollop of jam, they were the epitome of comfort food. Each bite was a delightful symphony of flavors, leaving me longing for more long after the last crumb had disappeared.
In terms of service, Rise truly shines. Despite the unusual sight of shorter patrons, the staff were incredibly attentive and accommodating. From refilling my coffee to ensuring my meal arrived promptly, their professionalism and warmth did not go unnoticed.
While Rise may offer a unique perspective on the world, it's important to note that its appeal lies not only in its clientele but also in its exceptional cuisine and stellar service. Though the sight of shorter individuals may initially catch you off guard, I urge you to embrace the experience with an open mind. After all, isn't variety the spice of life?
Overall, I would rate my experience at Rise a solid 4 out of 5 stars. With its delectable biscuits, inviting ambiance, and friendly staff, it's a breakfast spot that's well worth a visit, regardless of...
Read moreMy first experience with rise believe it or not was at the pepper festival in 2015. They had the most interesting pepper donut holes. Since then they have become a favorite place to stop by when I'm looking for something different.
They have a maple bacon donut that is to die for if you like sweet and salty. The bacon is also the good stuff not that cheap fast food kind, it's thick and crunchy. They frequently have unique flavors on rotation, I've had a peanut butter and jelly donut once, a lemon lime donut and a breakfast cereal donut. Check to see what they got on the menu and I'm sure you will find something interesting.
They also have some really great buttermilk biscuits. You can get that in any combination, chicken, bacon, egg, cheese no cheese. Everything is cooked fresh to order so you'll see people standing around for their order, takes longer than fast food but it's a good time to chat with friends or get some of the brewed coffee.
This location is a bit small, more like and order and go kind of deal, but their food is fantastic just like all the others. It gets a little cramped in the store sometimes because they are so popular it's not uncommon to see line going out the door. Placing orders is quick but because biscuits are made fresh to order it may take up to 10 mins to get if your ordering a few things biscuits. Most of the donuts are made in batches so you can grab those and goit's because there's so popular they tend to disappear quickly so make sure you get...
Read moreI placed an online order at 8:56am on a Saturday morning. I was attending a conference at the convention center up the street. I placed it while on my way so it could be ready when I got there.
I ordered blueberry beignets, righteous chicken on blueberry biscuit, and a sweet tea. The total was $13.50, which was reasonable.
Per email confirmation, it was to be ready by 9:11am. I received a text at 9:01am that my order was ready, which was super quick. I didn’t arrive until 9:10qm.
Once there, I noticed a kiosk for placing order. What was really cool is that online and pick up orders are stored in a lockbox style container. You type your name on the machine and the door with your order is highlighted. I liked that! It prevents someone from taking the wrong order and frees up staff from having to stop and pass out orders. One staff member saw me taking pictures and stopped to pose. I loved that! I did have to ask for a cup to get my own beverage.
Unfortunately, when I got to my conference, they had breakfast but it wasn’t stated. Guess what?I had two breakfasts haha.
The sandwich was SOOO DELICIOUS! Omg. I highly recommend!! The beignets were tasty as well but I didn’t get to taste them while they were fresh because I got full from the double breakfast lol.
If you’re reading this, give them a try! You won’t be...
