I rarely give a negative review however I was just very unhappy with the food, and I felt as if they literally ripped me off with the Tres Leche cake that I ordered for dessert I should have known as I was walking out, and it felt like there was almost nothing in that to go package, but I didn’t look until I get back to my hotel room and when I tell you, they gave me a sliver of a piece that’s being generous not to mention they charge me $7.50 for this and it’s dry as a bone! Service was excellent atmosphere was fine however, the nachos almost had no cheese and I asked for ground beef and unfortunately there was very little.
After I left a tip, my bill came to $38.26 and I simply ordered one nacho bravo two glasses of pineapple juice and a piece of cake.
In my opinion, this was one of the worst Mexican restaurant experiences I’ve ever had and I almost always go out of my way to leave positive reviews, but I just can’t find it in myself to give one to this establishment, especially considering how they took advantage of me on the dress like a cake. I know for certain they took advantage of me because I saw the picture that others posted. I’m a positive note. The pineapple juice is amazing, just be certain to ask for less ice because they charge four dollars a glass, and after about three drinks, it was gone because they filled the glass...
Read moreThis restaurant was suggested to me by my neighbor. She said her daughter told her it was delicious authentic mexican food. So last night, my niece and I went there and I gotta tell you...I just don't get all the rave reviews. First, the waitress (I'm not naming her as to not insult her) brought us a small basket of chips (about a dozen) and small bowl of salsa with about 2 Tbsp. in it. the chips had no taste at all. But my niece asked for more and she was charged for them. We've been to other mexican restaurants and that hasn't happened. But that's OK. She ordered the Lindo Burrito and I ordered a chicken Chimichunga. it took quite a while to get the food and when it came, we both looked at each other with disappointment...both dishes were so bland. My chimichunga had more tortilla and rice than chicken. I asked for extra sour cream as soon as she delivered the food but it took her about 10 minutes to bring it and by that time, I had enough. We both ate barely half of our food. Then we had to keep trying to get our waitresses attention to get the check. We both agreed...not ever coming back!!! Bad food...bad service. Very...
Read moreCan not say enough positive about Cielito Lindo. Best mole in Minnesota, period. I get cravings for the carnitas. They have the best jamaica I have ever had. On weekends they have pozole and menudo and the cost for those is low. The enchiladas are incredible, in any of the sauces. The burritos and chimichangas are huge but sadly don't come with rice and beans, and there is no way I'm skipping rice and beans here. Too yummy. I love the tamales too. Really, we've had almost everything on the menu and it's all incredible. The owner and his family take pride on getting the best ingredients and putting that extra "something" into every dish.
The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, but nice for a dinner with friends or a date. There is a full bar and they have a killer jalapeño margarita.
On Saturdays they have karaoke and on Sundays they have a mariachi band. The band is a little loud and makes conversation impossible, but I suspect they just have some kinks to work out with the sound system.
Staff - some of whom are family members - are always fun, smiling, and are happy to talk about the food. Service is always great. Definitely a great...
