Went on a Monday with my family of 8 for a birthday, and didn’t like the experience from the start. The host didn’t greet us with the slightest smile, and seemed like she didn’t want to be there. Our server kept our table clear which was great, but service was still a little slow. all the food runners who delivered our food were all very rude and careless.
When we had questions regarding food, we got completely ignored by one, another literally said “I don’t know” and walked away. We figured they were probably JUST food runners and wouldn’t know why some food is taking a long time to come out, or that maybe they wont have the time to grab us a fork or extra sauce, but why? Are you all not a team working together? telling us “I don’t know” with no care and walking away, or simply just ignoring us was quite frustrating and very unprofessional. We felt like a bother to everyone honestly. Our server seemed rushed, but probably because they were short on servers?? I don’t know.
For future reference, I would recommend that the food runners would at least let the servers know to come by and help the customer in need if they don’t have an answer or can’t help, or to help out in SOME way if they’re able as that’s basic restaurant hospitality? Or if it was something simple like grabbing a fork, or grabbing some sauce, to just do it? Or at least share that they’ll notify the server to come help, and actually do it. We saw the food runners way more than our server, so it sucked they weren’t able to help us in any way. We understand it can get busy and there might be strict procedures on how things are run, but I wish there was better communication and professionalism overall. The food was also fine/average for AYCE, but we prefer better service than what was given, so we wont be back to...
Read moreThe food tasted great. However multiple issues with my visit, i found a piece of hair in my food on three of our dishes. We were a group of four with varying appetites, so one of us was ready to order dessert before the rest of the group. Our server asked if anyone else wanted any, we responded by saying not quite yet, to which our server responded that if anyone else wanted any to order it now because the ice cream was "so far away in the back". We all politely ordered our ice creams at that time so as not to be a bother. Here's where things got exciting, my boyfriend was paying for our tab but they had some issue with their p.o.s our server came back to the table loudly announcing the card was declined. Mind you his card was perfectly functional and he certainly had the money in his account to cover. He offered to try using his Samsung pay (which requires no special additions to a cash system, anywhere you can swipe a card you can use your phone via samsung pay) she informed us they did not have apple pay and continued to cut him off and get irate with him for trying to explain this was different and was a very simple process. Got her manager who came over and treated us as though we were cheapskates trying to skip out on the tab, while refusing to let him try using his phone. Another person in our party was over whelmed at the confusion and offered up cash to pay they ignored the cash and continued to make argument with my boyfriend over the declined card. Finally after carefully explaining to them they let us try using his phone, which attempted to process and their system glitched out multiple times. Ultimately the bill was paid with another card and that was that, but the unprofessional manner in which they handled it is why i will not be...
Read moreDefinitely bad service, especially at the end!! (Must read the end) During our time there we sat at a booth for four. There is only one side as an opening to get out and to get in. One of the waitress served our food OVER our head on the other side of the booth and in front of our faces while we were eating. To us, that wasn’t a professional way to serve your customers. Then the waiter who took our orders never refilled our drinks or asked if we needed a refill once, instead we had to ask first. Also, after we were done with our dishes we stacked them up (to help clean out the table as more food were coming to the table) and they never took them away, they would just leave the mess there, clustered. So we decided not to tip because of our experience we had here. We had cash on our tab and the change was 5 cents, but we left the nickel there. Now LISTEN, After I walked out to the car.. The waiter with the glasses who took our order came out and said “Excuse me! I don’t need this” walking with the NICKEL in his hand to give back. And then he had the NERVE to say “I served you guys before, you guys don’t tip.. I don’t need it!” And walked back. Who says that to their customers!? You should never tell any of your customers that. Honestly, it was rude and unnecessary. Now think about it. Idk what’s worse.. saying Eagan Kyoto has bad service or the staff there intenionally gives out bad service based off of their customers. I believe in tipping while dining out. Either he must be confused as to who doesn’t tip when we’re there, but I won’t tip for bad service!! Who would!? Kyotos in Savage is the best location to dine at. Savage over Eagan, never...
