UPDATE: Lowering my rating to one star. Three strikes and you are out. I have wanted a Taco Johns in Eagan since i moved here 20+ years ago. HUUUGE TJ's fan my whole life, but this location is complete garbage. They have had three chances now to get an order right. Shorted our order 3 times in a row now. Tonight they shorted us a meat and potato burrito. And for the third time in a row, the BEST PART about eating at TJ's, the potato ole's, were completely overseasoned to the point of being almost inedible. Tried calling to make it right and nobody answers. Enough is enough. I'll drive back to Rosemount for my TJ's fix from now on. Time to pull the plug on this dumpster fire of a restaurant.
ORIGINAL POST: So excited for this new TJ's location but have been waiting to try it due to the lines. Should have waited longer. I get that this place is new and they are still figuring things out, but the potato ole's were waaay overseasoned AND they shorted us one large order. The overseasoning happens, but shorting an order is not ok. Especially a simple order for two people. Come on TJ's. Get some basic systems in place so that you can at least get...
Read moreMy husband went through the drive through and was missing a food item so he went back through to get it. The lady at the window rudely remarked “it’s in the bottom of the bag”. It was not, he already looked because the order came out way too fast. She had him hand the bag to her so she could look herself and it was not in there. I was on the phone with my husband and could hear her attitude. Neither of us have ever had a fast food place take the bag back in for proof that food wasn’t in there, so that was weird. She had him pay AGAIN for the missing item. Then she handed him the bag and said it’s all in there. Then he told her he only got one nacho cheese out of the two he ordered. She didn’t say anything and just shut the window. He sat there for a few minutes thinking she was getting the nacho cheese but she never came back. He gets home and there is still THREE items in the bag, not four. So, what did he just get charged...
Read moreI rarely leave reviews at all, let alone negative ones, but this was so far beyond the pale that it seemed necessary.
Terrible experience. The food at TJ's seems to have changed (and NOT for the better) over the last year or so. The sauce is watery and tasteless and the beef now has the "off" taste that I always associated with Taco Bell. I have been a HUGE TJ's fan and advocate for decades, but it's no longer worth buying.
This particular visit took food quality to an entirely new low -- partway through my meal, I was stabbed in the mouth by something sharp (thank goodness that I hadn't swallowed that particular bite yet) -- when I sorted things out, I found what appears to be part of a cactus or thorn bush (not edible food, at any rate).
I contacted customer care (and provided pictures, etc.) in addition to leaving reviews, but after initially reaching out, they went dark without any attempt to make things...
