Eagle River Roasters — Restaurant in Eagle River

I stopped in with my husband, mom and daughter the other day before we popped over to a shop across the road. We have been driving through Eagle River to our destination of Land O’Lakes for years, and this year Eagle River Roasters caught our eyes on our way through. I ordered a café au lait, and we also had a hot caramel crème (latte I think?) and an iced Nutty Squirrel Mocha. I didn’t try the mocha but my husband said it was excellent. The cafe au lait and caramel crème were both great with the caramel crème having a really silky texture that was really satisfying. The atmosphere was very welcoming and we stayed for a bit to relax before heading out. If anyone is looking for a place to set awhile there is a lovely outdoor seating area or if you’re indoors, there’s some adult coloring books and other options. great if you have time to waste. lovely inside and even has some outside seating available. the parking lot is still a disaster and it is not easy to make a left turn back into town (the whole exiting side of the drive is riddled with huge potholes). Also, not a great place if you want a quick beverage. this last trip it took me over 10 minutes to place my order and I only had 1 person in front of me. granted one person walked in and was waited on before me, with a quick, 'just one minute, hun," thrown in there. I was hoping that part had changed, and I'll give you it is the middle of summer, but still time consuming to stop in and it's still the most expensive...

There are seats and Northwoods frills and plenty of atmospheric buffalo plaid, antlers and hunter green. There is the chance to buy tea, coffee and sweet things to take home, and some of the cheapest (good) coffee up north. Try the "Frank Sumatra" or "Buck Snort" roasts. We enjoyed a sweeter Black bear mocha or the famous nutty squirrel for an afternoon pick-me-up. Milk options include dairy as well as coconut and almond. Yay! Solid Wi-fi connection and good place to write a novel or host a meeting. Ample parking. Kind, helpful service. Coffee punch cards and Friday specials.
