Mucho Kaliente Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in East Ellijay

We weren't really impressed. First, we were seated at a table that had an ashtray on it with someone's butt in it. I thought smoking inside was illegal in Georgia. There was also rice all over the table. Margaritas were very sweet, almost cloyingly so. And weak and watered down tasting. The chips were good, but the salsa tasted like a simple canned tomato sauce mixed with some peppers. It had a nice heat, but not much else. My husband had some nachos and I had a combination that included an enchilada, a tamal, and a tostada. My husband said the nachos were good. My tamal was also good. The enchilada was decent but nothing special. The tostada was no bueno. The shell, which should have been crispy, was soggy. The toppings were meh. Our waitress visited exactly twice - once to take a drink order and once to deliver the drinks and take our food order. That was it. Never saw her again. We ended up totaling the bill in our heads and leaving cash on the table after waiting twenty minutes after we finished eating for her to show up. Bland, poor service, even the chips and salsa are bad. A group of us were staying in town for the week and wanted some good ole comfort Mexican food… we picked this place off of google maps thinking it looked the most like your typical Mexican joint. While the menu appeared that way, everything from the service to the food quality was poor. THERE ARE FAR TOO MANY OTHER OPTIONS IN TOWN THAN TO CHOOSE THIS PLACE!!! For starters the salsa was too spicy but no redeeming flavor, the chips weren’t quite stale but were on their way. The chicken in the entrees was not flavored at all; it had either been boiled or cooked in a crockpot with no seasoning what so ever… The beef was the same. The rice and beans on the side were not saviors either, equally bland with the beans being extra runny. All eight members of our party agreed this was the worst Mexican food we’d ever had and that’s saying something. Our ages ranged from 63 down to 20 and no one is particularly picky. ATTENTION!!!!! FRAUD HERE IS REAL. Me and my fiancé went to have a Valentine’s Day lunch, a day that only comes once a year. When we first sat down and got our drinks we had to beg for lemon, then we asked for two separate baskets of chips because I salt mine and my partner doesn’t and they ignored us at first. These small things didn’t matter because we were hungry. We ate and it was okay but when we got our bill it said 82$… SERIOUSLY our food added up to be 54$ with 7% added to it. How do you accidentally charge someone 30+ $$$$ ???? They tried to say they didn’t clear out the machine before they did our ticket well on the receipt the 36$ they were randomly charging us was in the middle which right off the rip tells me he entered that manually. Law enforcement should have been involved. What if I was elderly and didn’t know better and they got to profit off someone bc they pulling slick ones like that. THIS IS SERIOUS.
