Waffle House — Restaurant in East Ellijay

I wish I could rate ONLY this experience… but I can’t. I had given HER 1 star… but it wasn’t fair to the establishment. The restaurant itself is 3.5 - 4 stars in speed and friendly service. Also, It’s usually a good place to eat… and not to demean the fine cooks and other pleasant servers that regularly work there very hard. I have eaten there dozens of times with friends and family and maybe I caught the waitress Misty on a bad day… but, she was rude. She even yelled at me.. and all I asked her for was “sweet and low”. She heard Splenda…. But in my life, I’ve never asked for it. She made a commotion and it was embarrassing. She should learn to be nice or be in a different line of work. I asked for coffee with cream and sweet and low and water no ice. She brought coffee with no cream and ice water. I asked for no ice… she threw the water in the sink with a loud splash. Then forgot the cream and sweetener. I always ask for sweet and low, and did that day. When she did return with the sweetener, it was Splenda. I said I never use Splenda. She says I know what I heard. And I said, “I have never ordered Splenda in my life”. She said don’t argue with me at the top of her voice . Maybe she had a bad day. But that’s not my fault. And that’s not service…and you certainly should not tip to be insulted and yelled at. When I asked for the basics ..she was rude. I’ve had her before, and she was a joy. She was cheerful and singing. This literally was like a bipolar episode. She was “Mr Hyde”. Avoid Misty. She’s hit or miss from reviews and from this personal experience. Also, when it was time to pay, she and the other waitress did not want to take my payment. Childish behavior. This was a very weird experience for me. I am usually an excessive tipper, upwards of 25% or more. The last time on the same order of 11 dollars, I gave her a 4 dollar tip. This time, I did not leave a tip, as there was no service, only agitation. Everyone is allowed one goofy outburst in life…maybe two. But it shouldn’t happen in a family friendly restaurant where people are getting their day started. To top it off, nobody needs to pay for aggravation at the beginning of their busy...

I've eaten here a dozen times but this by far was one of the worst experiences. Came in with my girlfriend at about 9:15 and hopes to see my favorite server. She was nowhere to be found so we settled for a booth and proceeded to order. Sarah was our server who was very polite and a pleasure to have. One server who was present, Pat made our experience miserable. Hearing how poorly she spoke about our favorite server was very disheartening. I know her name tag says assistant manager but I wouldn't think that a manager of any position would be allowed to speak so poorly of other coworkers. We do not pay to come here and listen to the caddy talk about one another. We are barely out of high school but walking into there and having to listen to Pat talk about another server being a thief, trash and useless was unnerving. We are so glad that the new waffle house is open and our favorite server has relocated. She does not deserve to be treated the way Pat chose to treat her. Worst waffle house I have ever eaten in. I ordered hash brown bowl eggs over easy with gravy on top. Husband ordered all star with 3 eggs over easy sausage and raisin toast. Only mine came out with 3 eggs and they completely redid his because they put the extra egg on mine rather than bring his also and the 3rd egg later. When he finally got his breakfast the raisin toast was burnt no sausage or waffle and the grits were lumpy. The waitress said oh I owe you bacon..anything else you need? My waffle would be nice and it's sausage not bacon. Then the waffle came still no sausage. A few minutes later here comes the sausage. What a fiasco....I was extremely disappointed with this store. We passed 2.other waffle house because they were on the wrong side of the road and a IHOP. (I don't particularly care for IHOP but it would have been better I'm sure) will NEVER go back to this...
