The worst experience at any retail business I have ever had. First, my wife and I went to this business to purchase a sofa and two recliners. There were two female employees and one male employee working, that we noticed. We were never greeted or asked if we needed help, although other customers who entered after us were greeted quickly and offered assistance. After about 15-20 minutes we left and went to another furniture store, where we purchased a sofa. We went back to Farmers Home Furniture to purchase two recliners we saw on our first visit.

On the second visit, we were greeted by one of the two female employees and we told her we wanted to purchase a recliner we had noticed earlier, although the price was higher than most other stores, so we asked if the price was better if we purchased two of the recliners. The employee said she would see what she could do and went to a desk with a computer. I followed her and waited why she worked on the computer. As I was waiting for the final price, the other female employee walked by and asked what the other employee was doing, then said “they’re already on sale” (the business was having a recliner sale and our particular choice was $50 less), I wasn’t sure if the comment was directed to us or the other employee.

The first employee was able to reduce the price by $30 per recliner (reduction of 4%) although the delivery charge was $124, which was more than twice as much as most other stores.

We ultimately purchased two recliners at another furniture store for $150 less per chair, better quality, and a $35 delivery charge for a further distance.

Farmers Home Furniture is extremely overpriced with outrageous fees and unconscionably rude employees. I would sit or sleep on the floor before I ever purchased anything from this business. I don’t understand why we were treated so poorly or how this company stays in business. I will never purchase anything from this...

I absolutely love the people at farmers furniture in ellijay,.. The staff is very friendly. The people there make you feel like family. Robert and Carlos just delivered my couch. They were happy to help. The guys even had to take my front door off, so the couch could fit through. Not only that they took off an old couch and loveseat to the dump for me. All I had to do was pay a small dump fee. These young gentlemen deserve a raise. And praise! For their efforts and kindness.. Especially during this summer heat. Farmers offered a 12 month same as cash when I initially made my purchases. However, same as cash does not really mean what you would think. I opted to pay my furniture off early and had a pretty good idea of my remaining balance. I was dissatisfied to find that my balance was higher because I had to pay almost $200 for insurance! Really? What a ripoff. Insurance for what? Paying cash and having excellent credit. This is another ridiculous way to take people's hard earned money for nothing.
