I ordered the All-American burger meal minus tomato and cheese. It came with a medium order of fries and a 30-ounce root beer. I ordered a side of sweet potato fries, Texas Toast, Cole Slaw, and BBQ Beans. The condiments for the Burger came in little packages to apply, so I had to open the Burger and found an overcooked Burger, one wilted piece of lettuce, one pickle chip, and a couple of strands of onion. The bun was also damp. The meat quality was not good with me having to spit hard pieces from the Burger out. The fries were abundant but soggy; I threw many of them away. They also tasted undercooked. The root beer had good flavor but two-thirds of the cup was ice. The sweet potato fries were soggy and undercooked, I threw many of them out. The Cole slaw had too much dressing which was of a thick consistency and odd flavor. I threw much of it out. The BBQ beans were thick and not great. The toast was supposed to contain garlic which was hard to taste through all of the salt. Maybe garlic salt was being used to supply the garlic. It was terrible. This was the first time that I ate here, and I ordered through their website. The food was supposed to be ready at 8:35pm, and I found a drive-up window for online order pickup. I pulled up to the window and called the listed number on the window and they said they would have my food to me in a minute. This was 8:30pm. I called again at 8:45pm and they said my food would be right out, which it was. I...
Read moreMy wife and I frequently visit Ellijay but had yet to make it to Shane’s. We didn’t realize that it’s actually a chain, but that’s ok. The wait staff and lady who took our order were all very friendly. It DOES take 15-20 minutes if you order a hamburger, but that wasn’t an issue for us. The food, in all honesty, was just ok. The 1/2 rack ribs were tasty but lacked a smoke-flavor that I was expecting. They were also a lot fattier than what I was expecting. I did, however, try some BBQ sauces with the ribs and enjoyed them all. My wife and I both had the baked beans and fried okra. The fried okra was excellent (a little salty but excellent and fresh). The beans left some to be desired as they had sort of a canned taste to them (I probably liked them better than my wife). Both of our kids enjoyed the hamburgers and they both tend to be picky about those things, so this place definitely passes the hamburger test. The meal was about $43 (drinking water) to feed a family of four, which is a little steep when you consider the fact that one of us ordered off of the kids’ menu. Nonetheless, we will come back at some point but if it’s local cuisine you’re looking for, this might not...
Read moreEDIT...IN RESPONSE TO SHANES...I have no idea how to respond to your comment. The waitress said she told us upon ordering that the burgers took 15 to 20 minutes. But there were several of us at the register and no one in our party remembered being warned. Perhaps she forgot to mention that to us. We certainly would not have held up our entire table's lunch for 1 burger. But they were definitely rude when we were wondering why our meals seemed to have been forgotten. I do not want to speak to anyone else at that store 1)because they were rather rude to begin and we dont need to be told we were wrong yet again and 2)we were visiting from out of town and will likely never be back. Perhaps this review will help your store improve and warn others of your burger policy so they don't make the same mistake we did.
ORIGINAL POST: Slow service. 25 minute wait for a cheeseburger...supposedly was warned at checkout but ultimately waiters were pretty rude about us asking about where our order was as half our party were finishing their meal when we finally...
