Let me start this review by sharing that not only have I been a server, but I was also raised by a single mother who has always worked in the restaurant industry and is currently a manager at a five star fine dining steak house, so I offer nothing but grace when dining out and have never experienced anything like this before. My husband, myself and our 4 children arrived just after 9 on Friday night. We were sat next to a 6 top of teenagers that were screaming and singing so loudly we could barely hear ourselves across the table, and this noise level continued until they left. While we were placing our drink orders, a large pizza delivery arrived to the restaurant and our server happily shared that this was for a pizza party celebrating good ratings over the last month. We congratulated the server, ordered our drinks, an appetizer, and kids meals for our 2 youngest children. At this point, our server disappeared from the floor, as did every other employee, so it seemed. When a runner brought our drinks, our 2 oldest children were given kids cups. When we explained they were not ordering kids meals we were told we would have to speak with our server, which would have been fine if we had seen him. The kids meals and appetizers were also dropped by a runner, with no appetizer plates, leaving us to eat off napkins. 25 minutes later, when our server finally reappeared on the floor, my husband had to flag him down to correct the drinks and place the rest of our food orders. By then, our youngest was already done with his meal. We waited as patiently as possible for our food to arrive, but were already tired and frustrated. I did not receive the upgrade on one of my sides, which I wasn't going to press, but we also had not enough silverware, 3 empty cups, 2 undercooked burgers, an under cooked steak, and my oldest asked for a side of mayo that never came so she never even touched her food. After another 15 minutes of waiting for service and our kids complaining they were tired because it was now after 10:30, we decided enough was enough and we wanted to go home. We got up and asked to speak with the manager. We explained we were unhappy and just wanted to leave. We did not pay as we left full plates barely touched. Two weeks ago we dined at the Mount Olive Chili's and had a wonderful experience, spent almost $230 including a $40 tip to the phenomenal waitress we had. This was such a disappointing experience. We...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI will be honest, I wasn't thrilled when my wife and son said they wanted to order from Chilis earlier tonight but we had gift cards and I was hungry. Boy was I surprised. I ordered the Texas Cheese Fries and the Ultimate Cajun Pasta. We did curbside pickup so I wasn't expecting the french fries to be crisp but I was pleasant surprised. Yeah, there was some sog to the fries as can be expected with fries being ordered for takeout but the flavor was enough to make you forget that little sog. There were some fries that were still crispy which was a great surprise. I wish I had this in house because it would have been a great experience instead of a very good one but I can't knock them since I knew fries and carry out don't go well together but I would order this again in a heartbeat. On to my Ultimate Cajun Pasta. I have had iterations of this dish in house before. There was a lot of chicken and a lot of shrimp. You won't feel cheated with the protein in this dish. There was a good amount of cajun spice throughout. My wife ordered a chipotle bowl and was happy and finished it all. My son ordered the cheese quesadilla and finished it all, a rarity for him. We did curbside pickup and someone was out to the car within 30 seconds to let us know everything except my patsa was ready. About a minute and half later our curbside server was back with our order and apologizing for the delay. Mind you we were early compared to what the app and text message said. Overall this was a great experience. We got a ton of food, two adult meals and two kids meals and one app for less than $60 before tax and tip. The service was outstanding even though we ordered curbside pickup. Great job Chili's. I will be honest, I was about to give up on you when I had to wait over an hour on Veteran's Day two years ago in a mostly empty restaurant but you have gotten better and seem to have the staff to make folks happy again.
On a side note, the server who brought our food to the car said he was yelled out quite often and that is not good. If you are ordering from this Chili's please don't yell or abuse your server. Just tell them what you need and I am confident you will get what you need. Don't abuse...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm honestly a little in disbelief about what just happened at this location. I've never really had an issue with Chili's but also I don't expect the most stellar dine dining experience either. It's Chili's. My partner and I got dinner here together and our server (Daniel? Not sure if it was him or somebody else, they switched out after taking our drink orders so I have no clue of the names) was extremely inattentive to our table the entire night. When he would show up, he'd barely let us order anything before running off again. Mind you, it was NOT busy at all and they were several different servers standing around. There were different things we wanted to order tonight but were unable to because the sever would literally not stay at our table long enough to listen. We also waited probably over 20 minutes after finishing our food just for him to show up and give us boxes. This wasn't what bothered me the most, though. After finally giving us boxes, he insisted we take the review on the tablet and it would mean a lot to him. Okay, but after that service? Geez. My boyfriend wanted to just leave but I'm like okay, I'll fill it out honestly. As I go to tap through the review, our server comes over, leans over me, AND STARTS TAPPING EXCELLENT ON EVERYTHING! I'm sitting there SHOCKED that this man has the audacity to get into my personal space and try to fill this thing out for me with what he wanted me to put. I politely tell him to please not fill it out for me and he seems surprised I even spoke up. Unfortunately half the review was already submitted but I quickly tapped through the rest; not as honestly as I wanted to, though, because at this point I just want to get the heck out. As soon as we left the restaurant we just laughed in disbelief of what just happened because WHAT?! I work in food service and this is NOT okay. Hopefully better training happens at...
