We just came back after lunch at The Godfather restaurant. It was six of us there. We've been patronizing this establishment for many years, and were happy with it overall. As we walked in today, we've noticed a very unpleasant smell. Some of us felt that it was cleaning supply residue smell while others felt that it was the smell of bad seafood. We ordered six different dishes, and I wanted to order something that I haven't tried there before, which was red snapper/scallops combo with zucchini/mushrooms in brandy sauce. The service was slow, and we had to request the waitress to finally bring us the bread basket, to which she admonishingly replied that they only had one butler today. Once the food was brought in, I started with the vegetables first, followed by one snapper fillet. It was fine. Then I moved on to scallops. The first one had an awful off-taste. I put this scallop on the bread plate, and tried the second scallop that tasted just as bad. While I was looking for a waitress, I tried the next piece of snapper from another filet, and that fish also had a terrible off taste. When a waitress was finally summoned to our table by the butler, her immediate response was that since I ate most of the food, the restaurant would only reduce the price by a fraction. She took the plate back to the kitchen, and came back a few minutes later repeating the same story that I should've returned the whole plate if I didn't like it, therefore the manager would only agree to reduce the price of the dish. When I mentioned again that I only started to eat scallops and the second part of the fish after the top piece was eaten, she wouldn't budge and repeated her reasoning, mentioning that the seafood just arrived today, and both fillets came from the same fish. Not sure if that is true, but the scallops were sitting on top of the second fillet, and that might've given it smelly off taste. I am very surprised at the attitude of the waitress blaming a customer for not eating the food in the right order in order to identify bad pieces. The price reduction was also very insulting. They reduced the price from $25 to $17. Not sure how they are able to measure that I ate about 66% worth of food. With such math skills the waitress should work in the...
Read moreThis restaurant has been around since 1975, and it’s definitely a classic. We went there for lunch, and the place was super busy. The restaurant is divided into a self-serve pizza area and a dining area. We chose the dining area and ordered a few signature dishes: Shrimp Scampi Pizza, Italian Mussels, Grill Cheese, and Lobster Ravioli.
Dish Highlights: • Shrimp Scampi Pizza has an ultra-thin crust with crispy edges. The shrimp is generously portioned, and every bite is packed with freshness and flavor—absolutely satisfying! • Italian Mussels comes with a huge portion, but the flavor was pretty average. The tomato sauce was on the lighter side, and it could have been better with a bit more sauce. • Grill Cheese was a delightful surprise! The combination of cheese and lemon white sauce was super refreshing, with a tangy-sweet taste that felt light and not overwhelming. • Lobster Ravioli was the star of the meal. The wine-infused sauce was incredible, the scallops inside were huge and tender, and the lobster filling was rich and flavorful—every bite was pure indulgence.
At the next table, a regular customer ordered an Italian sandwich with soup, and it looked massive and absolutely delicious. Definitely putting that on the list...
Read moreI am so upset about my last visit! The clams were mismatched, you never serve 3 small, and 3 large clams, it's either 6 small, or 6 large. My bartender was horrible, I only know her name was Rayel because she schmoozed with a regular named Bobby. I know I got there close to closing, but it was 9 and they close at 10! It seemed like the staff had already checked out. Also, don't have personal conversations within earshot of paying customers, I don't wanna hear about the 2 dates you went on. On top of everything else, Rayel decided to eat at the bar 3 seats from me. I have had many meals here, and I know that restaurant staff can be transient, but your current staff is horrible, I might say I had the worst experience in my life. All I ate was clams, BTW the clams casino was nothing but bread and clam, come on now! I wish I had just went to wawa, I would've saved at least 40 dollars. I don't know who's in charge, but you need to train your staff better. I'm disgusted, I really wanted to order a meal, but I'm glad I didn't, because I may have been even more angry. What happened in the 6 months since I...
