I've visited perfect poundcakes twice since finding out about them via Instagram late in 2020. I've sampled multiple flavors but by far, the best are the sweet potato poundcups! The last visit, I pre-ordered a multi-pack and when I went to pick up, Tamika (the owner) told me she mistakenly didn't have the ingredients to make the sweet potato ones, but would happily make them for me the following week when they opened.

No big deal and I definitely wasn't going to complain about free cupcakes. I went back their next business day and picked up.

Many decades ago my Great Grandmother moved from Mobile, Alabama to Hartford, Connecticut. She took with her (6) children and a host of recipes, among those was a recipe for incredible Poundcake that has been passed down through the generations. I say this with complete conviction and earnest— Perfect Poundcake is the ONLY bakery/brand I’ve found to rival the flavor of our family recipe. Enjoying the original Poundcake I’m reminded of my family and my childhood.
