Let me preface this by stating that I am from California so not Mexican but grew up with an abundance of decent to good Mexican food. I went to this place with 3 adults and two children. We were traveling and went in with very low expectations because, ok, it's a small town in PA so I don't expect them to know decent Mexican food. But we didn't have that many options and there we were. First clue was I don't think a single Mexican person works there. Chips and salsa were fine. When my 3-year-old said she didn't like her quesadilla I tried it myself and holy shit there has never been anything worse. A hard, tough "tortilla" that smelled like old oil, filled with not even real cheese but that white "queso" dip type stuff. I also mistakenly ordered a quesadilla verde, thinking they can't mess it up that badly, but just as terrible. All 5 of us tried this and couldn't take another bite. Other things ordered in our party included margarita (flavor ok but lots of chunks of ice in it), rice and beans (kids liked the rice), carne asada (good flavor but so tough it was hard to cut with a steak knife), fajitas (decent). Other diners seemed to be locals who were enjoying themselves but my very low expectations were not even close...
Read moreWe came here for a family member’s birthday and had a nice time. The food was excellent. The portion sizes were great and it was some of the best Mexican food I’ve had. They are clearly short staffed. We waited 15 minutes for a table and when it was finally time to be seated, we were the only ones there. We were confused on why we had to wait when there was no one there. Our drinks took almost 15 minutes to come out. The food was quick, though they didn’t wait for everyone’s food to be done, they just brought out 1 or 2 dishes at a time. By the time everyone got their food some people’s plates were already cold since we wanted to wait until everyone was served to eat. The waitress put an incredibly hot plate in front of my toddler. I asked her if it was hot and she said yes very. I would have appreciated her giving it to me instead or giving me a heads up before she sat it down so I could move my toddler’s hands out of the way. All in all it was a good experience and we will be back. I realize a lot of this was due to them being...
Read moreOnly eat here if you love your waitress being absent or if you like Mexican food that all taste bland. Needless to say we didn't receive drink refills. Our food did come put in a timely fashion and was hot. It took me asking a different waitress, when our's went MIA, for our check. No one came to our table to get my card. I took it to the front counter just to stand there for ten more minutes. Finally someone came. Still not our waitress. When I asked where our waitress was the girl replied they were busy. 10 tables and 5 waitresses. This places definitely wasn't busy. I shook my head and said, "Y'all aren't busy." She looked me dead in my eye and said, "To each is their own." Seriously. Then she tried as hard as she could to give my fiance my debit card, even as I was reaching for it. I told her it sucked for our waitress because I'm a good tipper. Lol We won't be back unless the wait staff is all new people and the Mexican food actually tastes like...
