HeFun Asian Fusion — Restaurant in East Lake

Do NOT skip out on this gem! Next to a Great Clips and an Ice cream shop, HeFun has been THE place for us when we want sushi or Asian cuisine. The waitstaff are incredible and the service is quick, helpful, friendly, and always quality. Our food is ALWAYS delicious, quickly prepared, great portions, great quality and appropriately priced. It is not the cheapest option, but when you want more than cheap sushi, you come here. After our first visit, the waitstaff had remembered our seating preference, drink preference, appetizers of choice and have been able to recommend things based on what we’ve previously had. The dishes are beautiful - it’s easy to see that the chef is passionate over their food - because the dishes are beautifully presented. The portion is wonderful for the price, with some of the best miso and hot-sour soup I’ve ever had. There isn’t a roll we’ve ordered that hasn’t been visually stunning but also delicious. The saki options are varied, but we still love their hot house option. On our last visit, we were even presented with a free mochi dessert because they remember us coming in. That level of attention, the quality of the food, and how quickly it is prepared are all reasons why we come back over and over again. We’ve rid our bikes, driven, and even walked from East Lake to get here. Though there are all you can eat sushi options that will be easier on the wallet, you can’t beat the love and passion put into this place. All of the waitstaff have always been so kind, quick, friendly, and professional. The chef continues to impress with new things we try- I’d recommend the House Roll, their Rainbow Roll, and the sashimi dinner - but you really can’t go wrong. Our experience at HeFun Asian Bistro in Palm Harbor was truly delightful! We started with the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, which was an absolute standout—crispy on the outside with perfectly spiced tuna on top. It was a unique and flavorful bite that set the tone for the rest of the meal. The Spicy Crispy Tuna Sushi was fresh, with just the right amount of heat, and the Sushi Deluxe platter showcased a great selection of fish, each piece tender and of excellent quality. Every dish reflected the kitchen's attention to detail and freshness.

The Chicken Tempura was another highlight, lightly battered and fried to a golden crisp without being oily, making it a great complement to the sushi. For dessert, we couldn't resist trying the cheesecake, and it did not disappoint. The texture was silky smooth, with just the right level of sweetness, making it a perfect way to end the meal. The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff were attentive, making our dining experience feel special from start to finish. Highly recommend this spot for sushi lovers and those looking for quality...

We’ve been here many times in the four months since it opened and it has become our favorite restaurant. It has beautiful decor and is kept very clean.

The owners/staff are as sweet as can be and want you to have a great experience. They’ll go the extra mile for their customers.

And the food, oh my gosh, the food! The best sushi I’ve had in years. The rolls are delicious and inventive, not just variations of California rolls. The poke bowl, bento box, hibachi and noodle dishes are all wonderful. Everything, really.
