Ingcredible — Restaurant in East Lansing

I’ve been going to IngCredible for over 20 years. This location used to be excellent. The head cook (now at the Saginaw location usually it seems) knew what he was doing and ran a tight kitchen, and the guy who ran front of house (now at the Holt location) was great too. Whoever has been cooking food there for the past couple years is incompetent, and they have a rotating crew uo front that is different every time you visit. Everything is insanely overcooked. I really don’t know how they do it. The chicken is consistently stringy to the point of inedibility. They must deep fry it for 20-30 minutes just to make sure its done. Its done guys. Like this location.

The holt and saginaw locations are still good (holt especially). The DeWitt location is hit and miss, but definitely better than Lake Lansing. They are much less convenient, so I check the Lake Lansing location once in a while hoping they’ve turned things around, but so far no dice. I’d love to update this review, but I’m running out of hope.

Food was decent, served in a buffet style, very limited options. The fried chicken rice was delicious, the orange chicken wasn’t bad, and the lo mein was average. Food was very fatty, and caused me some stomach pain as I went throughout the rest of my day. I originally wanted to get almond chicken but was told they didn’t have that. Looked at the menu on the way out and saw it listed so I’m not quite sure what happened with that. Customer service left bitter feelings. The lady serving was extremely disrespectful, which made me almost leave half way through getting my food. It was kinda pricey for what I’m use to paying. It was almost $9 total for a meal (which was a generous amount of food) and an egg roll (extra cost). The meal was a good portion size, but my main Chinese restaurant at home gives me 2x as much food for the same price and it’s individually cooked, not in a buffet style. I have eaten here a few times now. The food is alright for the speed and cost of it but the staff leaves much to be desired. Portions are good. The lunch deal is a good deal but they charge an extra $2 for drink and egg roll. I asked for an extra egg roll with my meal on my most recent vist and was given my two egg rolls and lunch tray with no drink. When asked for a cup, the woman at the counter told me I did not answer her when she asked about the drink so I do not get one but I could buy another one from her. I asked why the drink was not included if I got the expanded lunch deal. She simply printed a receipt showing the cost of the meal and a seperate charge for two egg rolls and refused to provide a drink. I thanked her for the food and left due to a line of hungry customers forming. She was clearly not going to simply appease her paying customer with the $0.25 beverage and there was no point in wasting other peoples time. I do not think I will return to...
