Peppinos Pizza East Lansing — Restaurant in East Lansing

I ordered a $5, 1-topping, 12" pizza, which is their special on Mondays. My rating is based on the value as well as the pizza.

Toppings: 5/5 I have never seen so many topping before on a 1-topping. Americans go overboard on toppings generally anyways, so I never order more than two toppings on a pizza. But wow.

Cheese: 5/5 The amount of cheese on this pizza was a double-cheese equivalent at Dominos or Pizza Hut. It wasn't fresh mozzarella (like they hopefully have on their hearth baked ones), but it was cheese galore.

Sauce: 4/5 The two most important parts of a pizza is the crust and the sauce. That is what takes skill. This sauce is really quite good. Much better than you will find in any local chain like Howie's or Cottage Inn, and slightly better than Dominos or Pizza Hut. Not awesome, but good. It doesn't taste like that nasty and sugary stuff.

Crust: 3.5/5 I don't go easy on crust reviews. 3.5 is actually good for America. 5/5 Is a good joint in Naples. The crust here was better than Dominos and Pizza Hut. It was somewhat light and did not get soggy. But at the same time the outer edges were compressed and not airy at all. Pizza joints should pride themselves on the crust, and not have the cheese go half an inch to the edge like this one. Anyone can throw a bunch of cheese down. Crust is what separates the truly good pizza.

Overall, it's good pizza. I will be back. I can foresee them taking a lot of customers away from Cottage Inn if they were closer to the bars and had late night deals.

Extremely boring and below average pizza. Literally nothing stands out from every other pizza place. VERY skimpy on the toppings, we got a 1 topping pizza that was basically just a regular cheese pizza. Some slices had no toppings at all. Flavorless, unseasoned, chewy crust. Cheese was not fresh tasting or melty at all. The pizza was dry as hell with barely a drop of sauce. Just stale cheese on dry bread with next to zero toppings. I wasn’t going to give the service a bad review, but then my wife mentioned the lady who took her order on the phone was rude. I can’t think of a single reason to choose this place over Dominoes, Jets, or even Lil Caesers (and I HATE lil caesers). Probably the worst pizza I’ve ever had. Terrible experience on all fronts, thank god we had a coupon because the prices are ridiculously high for prison cafeteria quality pizza. Driving into town we decided to grab a pizza before checking into our airbnb on a Friday night. Found Peppino's online and were excited to try a local favorite.

Easy to order online! I was able to order ahead and pay at the counter. Cute space to eat although small. Customer service was great! Gal working counter was sweet. We carried out.

We ordered vegetarian pizza and breadsticks, both with no cheese. Dipping sauce for breadsticks had some cheese in it but next time I would ask if that can be removed or just get more ranch. Pizza and breadsticks were good! We liked we could get garlic, banana peppers, jalapenos and green olives as toppings. Nice to change it up!
