Was there for supplies for my employees to make their annual paper turkeys. We then use the turkeys for a contest which includes patients and followers of social media. I was super excited to see the paper products were 40% off. I use foam board for the body. There was a sign hanging from the white foam board that said $1.99 for white foam board with dimensions. I was thinking I hit the jackpot. I made sure to read it carefully, and make sure I had the correct foam board. At checkout, no one was in line. Another win! The cashier started ringing up the foam board and she said 5@2.99. I said I believe the foam board is on sale for $1.99. she checked her flyer. Said, no it's not. I said are you sure, there is a sign hanging. So she turned around to ask two employees who standing at the front of the store. In the meantime, the line behind me is growing... One of the employees said no, poster board is not on sale. I said it's foam board. There was a sign. She snapped at me and said just give it to her. So I said no, if not on sale, I don't need it discounted. But there is a sign. I was shocked at her irritability with me. I was also surprised I felt so humiliated. Then, as I bring the figurines out of my cart, I notice a whole in one of the little figurines. I tell the cashier who doesn't seem to care. I said I'm going to go get another one. I come back and she says do you want me to put these in paper?! Ummm, one was already broke. Why is this a question? The other employee called for more cashiers and the line dispersed. I said to my cashier, ya know all of that attitude was unnecessary. I do not need the discount. I simply was trying to let her know there was a sign. She says well it's her department... Which flipped my switch. Then she forgot to take the sign down. Instead of going back to see, she stood aside whispering to the other employee who said, it's ok. Nope, it's really not. Unfortunately, this is the closest Hobby Lobby and there are things I need occasionally. I'm leaving this with maybe she was having a bad day, but humiliating your customers is less...
Read moreI am a college student near this particular Hobby Lobby, and I often go here for art supplies as I take a Studio Art class. Well, my most recent trip involved buying wooden crafts, paint, 2 wooden letters and gems to decorate fun, personalized plaques for some friends for a birthday. The total rang up quite cheap and at that time, I was impressed. Once in the car to head home, I sifted through the bag to find that the gems were not there and the receipt showing they had not been rung up, so we turned around to purchase what had not been rung up, but clearly placed on the counter. At that moment, it was no big deal, until I was home and realized TWO other essential items had not been rung up.
I am thoroughly disappointed and frustrated that after setting down seven items, the cashier neglected to see three that I had placed on the counter. Now, I'll take some responsibility for not watching her carefully, but it's frustrating nonetheless, especially since they close on Sundays and that was my next best opportunity to go.
Lesson learned: although not our job, watch the cashier to ensure that they are ringing up ALL items so you won't have to revisit the store again, and therefore waste more time.
Hobby Lobby cashiers, please be more...
Read moreI went 1st to their closed store in the Delta Center, not knowing it was closed. We then drove into E. Lansing to this Hobby Lobby. I was looking for candle making supplies, and this store is very large. I asked a sales associate where I could find these items, and she told me the candle section. I then explained that this was my first time in their store. Would she elaborate more on where the candle section was? She stopped what she was doing and walked me to that area. I was grateful as I am disabled with leg and spine issues. I didn't see much of any supplies, but there were lots of empty pegs and shelves where items hadn't been restocked. The only large package of wax was all ripped up, but I had no option, I took it anyways, and the cashier helped me tape it all up. All in all, it is a large store. Somewhat clean, well organized, with sufficient staffing. It's a thumbs up for my recommendation. Though the candle crafting section needed to be replenished, the other items in this section were stocked well, as were many other isles I went down, and their displays were clean and everything was clearly marked with...
