Tabooli — Restaurant in East Lansing

I was so excited for this place just to be let down. I ordered the chicken shawarma panini in a trio. The iced tea was excellent which made me excited for the food, but when I opened the salad, I was let down. I had ordered a Mediterranean salad, but was instead greeted by something different entirely. A mixture of pickled vegetables, a half inch deep puddle of oil/sauce, and very few pieces of old lettuce. I knew immediately that it wasn’t the salad I ordered, and was unimpressed with the one they had given me instead. But still, I held out hope for what had looked like a beautiful panini, until I saw that the “swiss cheese” they had promised were just thick slices of unmelted Kraft singles. I couldn’t even tell you if the rest of the sandwich was good because all I could taste was the off-putting plastic-y tasting kraft American cheese. So many people are saying this is the best Mediterranean in Lansing. But I beg to differ. Zaytoon has similar prices and better quality. Hopefully you have a better...

The food was good but I'm sorry, the restaurant was disgusting. I'm not sure if it's because it's on a college campus but it was the dirtiest place I've ever eaten at and I honestly didn't event feet comfortable sitting at a table to eat or touching the doors to enter / leave. Not to mention we brought our kids and I didn't want them to sit or touch a single thing which was hard. When I mean everything was dirty, I mean every single thing. I only went to the restrooms to wash my hands and there wasn't paper towel and the sink was filled with something nasty that looked like ashes. I was almost hesitant to even eat the food because I was worried it...

So many wonderful things about this place…the customer service and food were both absolutely amazing! Razan is the warmest and most welcoming person, and it shows in the food. I stopped there with my son and husband and we all loved the food. I was looking over the menu for an item that I didn’t see, but she started making it anyway! The spicy feta and garlic sauce were by far the best I’ve ever had… the chicken shawarma, kofta, hummus and falafel were amazing as well as the sides and sauces. We live 2 hours away-and I came back 2 days later. She and her husband are such good people, I can’t wait to come back. 10/10 for food...
