Wow, what a gem this place is! We went with a group of 7 for my birthday dinner and had a wonderful experience. We sat in the main restaurant area but there is also seating available around and at the bar that is located in the lobby of the shops. There was live music which was really nice too! Service was a little slow but our super friendly waitress had the whole dining room by herself so that was no fault of hers. The fresh bread and olive oil is delicious. We ordered the polenta and mozzarella carozza appetizers and both were fantastic. The flavors in the polenta - cheese, Italian sausage and arugula - blended so well together. We ordered a variety of entrees. The gorgonzola filet was the winner, cooked perfectly medium rare and so deliciously savory. The beef maximillion was also very good, mine was a little over cooked but I could overlook it because of the mushroom based sauce/gravy it was cooked in. The fettuccini Alfredo was great - creamy and flavorful without being overly rich. The baked cod was flaky and perfectly cooked. The chicken Parm was good but was not the favorite of the person that tried it. Each entree came with a soup (vegetable - very good!) or salad and a bowl of penne with red sauce. The sauce had a great flavor to it, simple and balanced. We were too full to try dessert but plan to make room for some during our next visit. The bill came to ~$250 before tip which was reasonable for 7 people, 5 of which also ordered drinks. If you haven't been to Mario's yet - you should go! I know...
Read moreIt was very good...I had the seafood mix on linguine....Frutti di Mare...it was good but really not much seafood on it..compared to this huge amount of pasta .I was disappointed with that and that I didnt find it had alot of flavor.... I'm used to lots of garlic in mine maybe I'll get the clams with linguine next time.
My mom got the Clams Arugula...she enjoyed that but again a tremendous amount if pasta compared to the clams. She loved the flavor of the dish though.
However my husband got his usual which is veal franchise and he was delighted as he was last time!! Prepared perfectly thin and tender...wonderful flavor!!
We loved the wonderful freshly toased salad and fresh dressing..its really tasty! The bread was hot and good. My chocolate martini was delicious. And finally my favorite dessert was as yummy as ever....chocolate brulee!! Absolutely amazing..like a warm liquid chocolate we shared it as a family... however it did need whipped cream LOL not a big deal I just forgot to ask for it
