I wrote this review on yelp and thought I’d leave it here as well.
Gross details ahead
I have only ordered from here a few times but I usually love it every time. Normally my husband and I go for a pizza and it's always great. However, the other night (2/26/19) I was craving a chicken Caesar salad, I'm 14 weeks pregnant so the craving wasn't something I could ignore haha. My husband got a buffalo chicken pizza for himself and I had my salad. This was around 9pm. The taste was off but I couldn't put my finger on it. I chalked it up to it maybe being the brand of dressing they use and moved on- but I only ate about half. Flash forward to the next morning (8:43 AM, to be exact) I shot up out of bed and bolted to the bathroom. The whole salad came up. Which is odd because usually when I have morning sickness nothing comes up because I have no food in my stomach (it's usually long digested)...but it was like it had been sitting there. I got sick a handful more times...then it started coming out the other end. This went on ALL day. I was either throwing up or, well you know. I'm okay today, thankfully. But be warned, something wasn't washed, stored or handled properly when it came to them preparing my salad. I hope nobody else had this problem. I will not...
Read moreWe were in the area visiting with relatives and one suggested this place for a good pizza dinner.
He did not steer us wrong. It was a little confusing at first as you are told to seat yourself. We went into the back part of the restaurant looking for a table and there were none available nor was there space at the bar for 3. It was a little awkward standing around like vultures waiting for an available table each of us staking out a different area so as to not lose an opportunity. We got a table with 10 minutes on this busy Saturday night.
I would have given the place a 5 but for the seating confusion that we had and witnessed others going through. That, and the confusion among the waiters and waitresses. One person took our order and another delivered our drinks and brought our appetizers. We had to flag down another to bring us plates and utensils. We went through the same procedure when our pizzas arrived. Otherwise an excellent meal.
Update a few years later: I suggested that we go there for a group dinner when we went back for a visit. We ended up getting take-out pizzas to go to a relatives house. No complaints;...
Read moreI have visited The Pizza Shoppe in East Longmeadow multiple times, and my experience has consistently been disappointing due to the poor service. On each occasion, the service has been virtually non-existent. I have never been to another establishment where I, as a customer, have to flag someone down just to get basic service, such as another drink or placing a food order.
This lack of attentiveness is not due to the place being busy—the staff simply aren't proactive. They walk circles around the bar without making eye contact or acknowledging customers. This has been a repeated issue over my last 4-5 visits.
When it's time to pay, the frustration continues. You'll be left waiting until the staff decides to come over and run your card or give you change at their leisure. This complete lack of urgency and attention to customer service is unacceptable.
Given my repeated poor experiences, I have decided to take my business elsewhere. I hope that The Pizza Shoppe addresses these issues, as the service quality here leaves much...
