Today I had gone to go eat breakfast with my mom here at this location the food was great and the hostess was quick and took care of us.
When we were met by the waitress she had initially greeted us in spanish my mom had not heard her and because of this the hostess immediately switched to english assuming my mom didn't understand what she was saying. which was understandable at first however my mom had laughed it off and told her in spanish no she prefers spanish she just hadn't heard her the first time. After that the waitress didn't switch back to spanish and decided to only stick to english. My mom prefers spanish as that is her stronger language she kept responding in spanish so the waitress would switch back but the waitress kept only speaking to her in english. Considering we're in LA I was surprised that she kept doubling down on the english when someone is speaking to her in spanish.
It could have been dismissed as her not understanding what was happening, but I couldn't help but notice every table around us she spoke in spanish she even spoke to me in spanish a few times. the whole thing was kind of bizzarre as it gave the impression she was going out of her way to refuse to speak spanish the preferred language of the customer when she was fully capable of doing so.
Beyond that odd interaction she hadn't really checked in until the end the hostess had to come and help with drinks. she checked in once and that was it never got our drinks topped off had to wave her down for anything else. It's one thing if this restaurant was busy but it was pretty empty. I feel with all of the options we have today if we just wanted food we could have gone anywhere else especially this plaza alone. When you go to a sit down it's because you'd like to have service and unfortunately it just fell flat here.
Heads up parking is horrendous in the plaza but...

Superb service, very clean, delicious food and overall feel of the place, A PLUS!
I'm a big fan of Dennys. There's two others that I visit often. This one, the one on Flair Dr in El Monte, and the one in Koreatown on Western and Wilshire. I rate them all high due to great service, friendly staff, and properly prepared/delicious good.
It was extremely busy when we visited but they got to us in a timely manner. Almost every table was taken. One of the obvious signs to me that my visit will be good is if I see a manager making his rounds and checking on the patrons. That's what was being done here. I don't think the workers here needed any incentive as they had the right attitude. That along with the perfectly cooked food would make me want to visit again. I can't emphasize that enough. They've got a good group of workers here and judging by how busy this place was, it's no doubt that can be attributed to the right group of employees.
When the employees got to interacting with us it was very pleasant and they were courteous and friendly. This makes it worth it. I've actually been to this Dennys many times and I've never been disappointed in the service or quality of the food.
Probably like many others, I've visited dozens of Dennys in various cities and this one as well as the other two have been tops.
But back to this one, food was brought out piping hot and my coffee refills were performed routinely and with a friendly attitude.
So if you need to visit Dennys in the East LA area, try this one. I can assure you that you won't be...
Read moreCalled in my order. This is the place that was close to me and I thought I would give it another chance. The parking lot is small, the area was dark at night, I got off to pickup my order and I paid. I got my daughter's food went to the car without checking. She was missing her Ranch so she went inside to ask for it. The host was rude and gave her a hard time. I could see that both the cook and the host were not being friendly from the car. My daughter is 14 and always a pleasant girl willing to help strangers and when she came back to the car I asked her what happened. She never calls anyone rude because she is one of those sweet kids. She said the men were ride to her stating we didn't order Ranch on the side. When she said ok may have some ranch he was still being rude and said no you have to pay. She said ok and went into her pocket to get the 99¢ for the ranch. That's when the cook went to the back to get the ranch. The host then told her to never mind and next time to order it ahead. I have been to this particular Denny's years ago and ate in there establishment. The server was rude, then never came back, and food was missing. I left a cash tip to reflect his service and then realized they had a 15% tip added to my bill. I requested it to be removed as I had left a tip and the manager was rude. All in all I avoid this place. One of my daughters works a Denny's and my son in law works at one too. I found out it is privately owned so they get...
