Sorry to leave bad review, but I pointed to (don’t speak much Spanish) and asked for guava. Either asked “guava and cream?”
I asked for black coffee. Then she forgot my coffee. Then worker asked for. size and if I wanted cream? I said yes. What I got was cafe de olla which has spices and sugar. Well I did NOT want sugared coffee. It was delicious, but not what I asked for.
My point is they got the worker got the order wrong for two items.
Picture shows the guava/cream pastry MINUS filling. I got a horrible quality plain puff pastry that is undercooked. Like really poor product.
The pineapple empanada was good. The almond concha was okay. A bit small, seemed a bit stale as it was dry. Not the best, but not the worse.
I was in area. Won’t be back. Prices seemed a bit high compared to my LA bakery. Too bad.
Oh they don’t do Apple Pay which is okay, but worker wanted to see my phone? I paid $12 cash for 3 parties, medium spiced coffee, and bottled mineral water.
It’s a treat for me to eat out. So this was a...
Read moreThis is the only place that I can find in SoCal that serves white mole. To partake in it here, you must order a dish they call "El Velo de Novia" ("the wedding veil," from Spanish), featuring grilled black tiger shrimp drizzled in the sauce, served with a buttery mound of rice. Like most other moles, it is thick, has a piquancy that gradually builds the more you eat of it, but is tough to nail down vis-à-vis exactly what's in it. In addition to chiles, allium, and butter, the creamy mole certainly seems to have white chocolate involved, along with almonds. Due to the influence of the latter two ingredients, it is sweet and tastes like Christmas to me.
I enjoyed my mole blanco experience. It's very much unlike other moles, but similar in some ways as well. It is wise that Mexicans serve this only on very special occasions, as it is a bit "much" for an everyday meal -- the density and richness of the mole makes it impossible to eat very much of it without...
Read moreI found this place online while looking for a restaurant that sold "Mole Poblano" for my dad. So I took my chances and placed an order over the phone. I live near Glendale, so it was a drive to pick it up. When speaking with one of the employees there over the phone, she indicated the mole came with 2 pieces of chicken and rice. She gave me a total of about $18-$19. We picked up the order to go and when we arrived home we found that the order didn't come with rice. Instead they added pieces of cooked squash with onion. It was disappointing since my father likes his mole with rice. Additionally, I felt they are charging high prices and not providing what they advertise. When I called yo question them they said they ran out of rice but they replaced it for veggies. I advices the employee I should've been given the option to proceed with the order if there was no more rice. Don't go there. They'll...
